I like this- it’s sort of Corinne Bailey-Rae but with an even more innocent sounding voice. This track to me is the standout from what I’ve heard so far but I definitely see loads of potential for this lady. Check out here.
I call this indie-disco. It’s amazing and very addictive, but make sure you listen to it on big speakers for maximum effect. Check out here.
This is probably one of the best songs I’ve come across in the last couple of months. Mix 50’s sounds with hip hop from someone that looks a bit like James Dean and you get this. It’s fucking good. Check out here.
Quirky electro-pop from Manchester. Check out here.
This track made me smile, which is a change from all the serious electropop being thrown around my inbox these days. Fresh UK rnb. He’s been working with Neyo, Mario Winans, Jamelia, Wretch 32, Harmony [Chris Brown, Chipmunk, Maroon 5], Hypertone [JLS, RD, Mike Hough], and Fullerfix [Sway, Snoop Dogg]. Check out here.
I see this as the new Röyksopp. Sweetly addictive Norwegian electropop. Check out here
Nothing out of the ordinary from this bit of Swedish pop. It’s just fun. Check out here.
Swedish pop/ funk that’s really easy to listen to and really easy to like. Check out their little bi-lingual video clip. The singer’s got a killer smooth voice. Check out here.
Big, dirty, raw epic sounds from this hotly tipped newcomer for 2012. Check out here.
Well-crafted indie/ electro from Sweden. Check out here.
This has gone viral since early November and it’s a big big dirty rap and I don’t know whether to laugh or think ‘fuck yea’ when she sings ‘hayends in the aeyar’. Check out here.
Don’t be tricked into thinking this is one of those Abercrombie videos – although they do look models. They are, aren’t they? This is pop that sounds like American acoustic indie but it’s actually done by two British kids. It’s pleasant enough. Check out here.
A Chicago based pop duo making some very catchy pop tracks. Check out here.
Destructive, well thought Canadian pop mixing rap and soul. Check out here.
I rather like this. It’s soul and its so refreshing to hear because it just seems like some real genuine talent. Check out here.
I really like this. There’s nothing out of the ordinary for this pop trio but the songs are fun to listen to. Check out here.
These are some crazy bitches right here. Japanese electro pop. All I want to do is see them live because I have a feeling it’ll be one FUCKED UP show. Love it! Check out here.
I saw Ruby Goe live ages ago as part of a showcase and wrote about here. I guess since then she’s refined her sound and has come up with this. It’s very slick pop with a bit of that dark raw edge that seems to be the trend for 2012. I’d be very surprised if this didn’t blow up in the coming months. Check out here.
This is music from my neck of the woods (literally- White City in London). There’s a pop, indie, retro sound to this that’s very hard not to like. Check out here.
