First Listen: Jess Mills ‘For My Sins’

One of my favourites from this year, Jess Mills has a new, beautiful single out soon, and this is a preview.

First Listen: Delphic ‘Good Life’

I really like Delphic. Their debut, Acolyte, was a favourite when it was released a couple of years ago. This is their new track, ‘Good Life’, and is so fresh. Love.

First Listen: Foe ‘Frankenstein’

Foe drops the final single off her debut album ‘Bad Dream Hotline’ this month, called ‘Black Lodge’ (released Monday 23rd). It comes with the previously unheard b side ‘Frankenstein’, which is what you’re listening to right now. She’s also playing the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen on Thursday 26th July.

First Listen: Kymberley Kennedy ‘The Kym Possible Mixtape’

Kymberley Kennedy’s back with a new mixtape. It’s good.

First Listen: Little Mix ‘Wings’

This is the first proper single from Little Mix the most recent series X-Factor UK. I should not like it but I think it’s amazing!

First Listen: Meg Myers ‘Tennessee’

Any song that contains the word ‘douche’ in the lyrics is likely to be an interesting listen… So here’s one by Meg Myers for you. This is a brilliant, raw, sexy track and not something you’d have heard before.

First Listen: Fabio Lendrum ‘Out The Water’

Fabio Lendrum was one of the first people I featured on here, and it feels like it’s been ages ago. This song’s been out for about a week now and it’s near perfection, so I’m more excited to hear more than I was before.

First Listen: A*M*E ‘Find A Boy’

It seems like a lot of artists featured ages ago are finally starting to roll out some new tracks and this new tune, written by Emeli Sande, is brilliant new British pop by A*M*E.

First Listen: Bebe Black ‘Deathwish’

Amazing new track from someone who will no doubt be very, very popular very soon. You can download this track for free over on her website!

First Listen: Ed Drewett ‘Good Morning’

I’m a huge fan of this guy- he released a single a while back and was featured on here but he’s gone on to make a big success of himself writing tracks for, amongst others, The Wanted– who are now a household name pretty much all over the world. So it’s exciting to see more of Ed Drewett!

First Listen: Josh Kumra ‘Helicopters & Planes’

Josh Kumra is one of the most exciting kids to come out of 2012 so far for me, and his magnificent debut single ‘Helicopters & Planes’ (with U.S.G member K Koke guesting) is amazing. Produced by the man of the moment Naughty Boy, it sees Josh deliver a slice of distinctly UK hip hop soul.

First Listen: Noisettes ‘Winner’

This has been out there for over a week, but if you’re reading this in the UK you’ll probably feel the need to hear this today after the long weekend you’ve (probably) just had. It’s the Noisette’s new single and it’s very good.

First Listen: Passion Pit ‘Take A Walk’

My favourite indie poppers are back with an impressive new single.

First Listen: Tone Damli feat Eric Saade ‘Imagine’

This is a special song because it mixes two big Scandinavian pop stars together- Norwegian Tone Damli and Swedish Eric Saade. The result is perfect, harmless pop.

First Listen: Man Like Me ‘Squeeze’

One of my favourite new tracks from this month (and trust me, I hear a LOT of stuff every week…) this is the new Man Like Me single, produced by ex-The Streets‘ Mike Skinner. Single’s out May 28th. The band will play a special one-off launch show at London’s Dingwalls on May 24!

First Listen: Aiden Grimshaw ‘Is This Love’

When I heard this track last week I got really, really excited. I didn’t know back then who sang it. It’s been revealed that it was Aiden Grimshaw. To me, this is everything current pop should be, and more.

Aiden Grimshaw will release his incredible debut single ‘Is This Love’ on June 3 through RCA Records.

The song, written by Aiden, is taken from his debut album ‘Misty Eye’ which will be released on August 13.

The album contains all original material, co-written by Aiden.

Aiden appeared as a finalist in The X Factor in 2010. His audition is one of the most watched on YouTube – a striking a cappella version of Kanye West‘s Gold Digger.

Following his appearance on the show, Aiden, who is 20 years old, moved from his hometown of Blackpool to London and set up a home studio where he spent two years writing and recording demos with various writers and producers.

He found musical soul mate Jarrad Rogers (Lana del Rey, Tinchy Stryder), and the resulting songs make up his debut album.

‘Is This Love’ is an extraordinary, soaring pop anthem exploding with grinding drum & bass beats, and offers a taste of the light and shade, which Aiden explores in ‘Misty Eye’.

First Listen: Erik Hassle ‘Stay’

He’s back he’s back he’s back! So excited! One of my favourite artists of recent years, Erik Hassle is back with a beautiful track that gets catchier as the track goes by- much like ‘Hurful’ was. I really can’t wait to hear more.

First Listen: Jai Paul ‘Jasmine’

It’s been a year since this guy’s debut track- and now he’s back with this epic slice of pop, and it’s only a demo. Exciting.

First Listen: The Draymin ‘Should’ve Known Better (Album)’

The Draymin formed in 2005, are influenced by bands such as The Verve, The Stone Roses, Radiohead and 90’s dance records. They work from ‘The Hut’ in their hometown of Rosyth, Scotland – a wooden garage in their back garden, which they built themselves to allow them the space, time and freedom to piece their music together.

The album features their ‘underground’ single Heart Attack, which was championed by BBC Radio Scotland and XFM Scotland, and will be released on 2 April 2012 through Townsend Records. The album will be released digitally and physically, with the CD featuring two additional bonus tracks. The band will sign the first 300 copies of the CD that are sold.

First Listen: Scissor Sisters ‘Only The Horses’

This seems to be Scissor Sisters’ new single. Produced by the radio-loving Calvin Harris, I’m not really sure what to think of it but its pleasant enough.
