New Music: Kraus

Dutch electropop, this is really good music. It’s fresh and clean and easy to bop along to. Check out here.

New Music: Loomis & The Lust

This is pure, fun, well written pop rock made by some really cool guys from the USA. Loomis & The Lust have this 60’s surf SoCal vibe about them that cheers you up a little bit every time you listen. More importantly though, these guys don’t take themselves too seriously, and as a result they just kinda ooze coolness… Check out some tunes below or go to their Myspace here. Do it, they’re really good!

New Music: 8bit Moon

Stumbled across this lovely band on Myspace a few days ago. Hailing from the North West of England and taking influence from artists such as Afta-1, The Knife, and 8o’s synth-pop bands Yazoo and Telex, their hybrid sound fuses experimental productions with delicate vocals and nimble hooks to create seductively heady music. Check out here and give these couple of tracks a spin.

New Music: The Futhamuckas

I’ve heard about these guys for a while but never got round to mentioning them- a good mix of electropop and hip hop, American style. Check out here.

New Music: Yadi

Already causing a stir with music blogs all over the place, Yadi won’t be unsigned for long. Guillotine is pretty good. Check out here.

New Music: Talay Riley

This has blown my mind away. Haven’t been this excited about a new artist in a a long time. Talay Riley is pretty unique in my eyes- when you first give him a listen it just sounds like generic RnB, but the more you listen the more it sounds different. You might recognise him from featuring in Chipmunk’s ‘ Look For Me’. Check out here.

New Music: Loick Essien

British grime, produced by grime powermaster Labrinth (a Simon Cowell discovery…) Check out here.

New Music: The Naked and Famous

New Zealand based indie electro type band- really lovely optimistic sounds. Check out here.

New Music: Mary Ndiaye

A mix of afrobeat and eurobeat in that clean cut Swedish pop kinda way. Check out here.

New Music: Skittles

If you’ve been following my Skinnerisms this month, then you’ll probably like Skittles.  This Manchester based MC mixes his own style with a little bit of The Streets and some Scroobius Pip along the way.

Click here to download Skittles’ free EP called ‘prE:P’, in anticipation for his upcoming album, ‘Poor with £100 Trainers’, coming out soon on Broke’n’£nglish‘s label Estate. Definitely one to look out for!

New Music: The Pierces

These two girls freak the shit out of me. But they have a weird captivating Simon & Garfunkel vibe about them. I’m not sure if it’s an act, or if they genuinely are this scary. Check out here.

New Music: Skrein

Skrein has been around for a little while in the UK hip hop/ MC scene. His track ‘Reach’ for the Adulthood film is class, and reminds me a lot of Plan B’s first album. Check out here.

New Music: Antics

I’ve been meaning to feature someone called Joe Danger on here for a while, and it now seems that he’s changed his name to Antics… I think you would class this music as classic ‘wonky pop’, no? Check out here.

New Music: Ed Drewett

You’ll recognise this guy from the Professor Green track, ‘I Need You Tonight’. I reckon Ed Drewett will be pretty large this time next year judging from the demo’s on his Myspace. Check out here.
