Jon Bryant – Lightspeed

There truly has yet to be a release from Canadian singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Jon Bryant that has yet to impress me. And Lightspeed’ is no exception, with it’s mystifying blend of pulsing beats and euphoric RnB-inspired melodies.

“This song is about change and the unknown. Dostoevsky said ‘Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what we fear most’. And when it comes to our relationships, change is inevitable. We either evolve or die, grow or atrophy. Nothing stays the same and although it’s painful, letting go of the past – good and bad – is necessary to prepare us for what’s next. I think of this song as a relationship that leaves one universe for another.”

The upcoming EP ‘PsychIdyllic Salutations’ is out on 26th November 2021 via Nettwerk.

Jon Bryant – Tied Up

Canadian alternative singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jon Bryant returns today with dreamy new single ‘Tied Up’.

A feeling most of us are all too familiar with, the song is all about those early hours in the morning when the world is sleeping and you’re still wide awake.

“This song is about the early morning after everything is done and most everyone is sleeping. I’ve always been the kind of guy that needs change and new things to happen. It’s like a drug to me. Covid has been the ultimate buzz kill for me, so I’ve come to terms with reality and embraced the routine. As much as I hate it. It helped me write 50 songs in 50 days. Still can’t believe I managed to pull that off.”

Jon Bryant – Candied Tangerines

A perfect slice of summer bliss, courtesy of Canadian alternative singer songwriter Jon Bryant. This nostalgic and soulful track was inspired by Jon’s visit to Los Angeles’ historic Sportsmen’s Lodge for one of their weekly, iconic poolside Sunday Fundays:

“It was as though all of old Hollywood was there. Drank margs with some silver foxes til my face was pink. I had a lovely time making new friends and lazily going about the day with my newfound 50+ crew.”
