Peyton Shay – Savior Complex

American starlet Peyton Shay returns with an impressively bold new single called ‘Savior Complex’.

Written as a statement of self-sufficiency, the song challenges the listener to consider themes like dependability and autonomy. Alongside its controversial lyricism, the track’s production presents us with a raw and gritty mix of indie and dark pop.

“All I am is an empty hand. If you tell me when to breathe I’ll hold it, hold it. I don’t need your CPR, honest, honest. Savior complex, savior complex, savior complex.”

Shay has been considered a rising star for a couple of years now. The artist has already charted on the US Billboard, amassed millions of TikTok views and found her songs featured on shows like The Big Bang Theory and All American.

Peyton Shay – Badder Than The Bad Boys

LA-based artist Peyton Shay is back today with a punchy new anthem called ‘Badder Than The Bad Boys’.

Inspired by the 00’s style pop-rock sound, the song’s lyrics reaffirm Shay’s view that listeners should stand their own ground – and follow the paths they choose to.

“The idea behind ‘Badder Than The Bad Boys’ started in high school. I grew up in a very proper and standardised town where everyone followed certain paths and expectations, even the “bad boys” followed a norm. I couldn’t stand it. I wanted to be on top of the world and genuinely live life for myself. This song is about me speaking and thinking how I want, not how everyone else expects me too. I hope this song gives power to the listener and helps them discover their true self.”

Shay is currently one of the youngest female artists to have ever charted on the US Billboards, and has recently enjoyed the success of her single ‘Aftertaste’ going viral all across social media.

Billboard-charting LA artist Peyton Shay returns with angsty new pop single ‘Aftertaste’ today.

The song is taken from Peyton’s upcoming EP (out this spring), and focuses on the lingering side effects and presence of a bitter relationship.

“After recording this song, I really felt like this was the beginning of authentically leaning into my sound and creative endeavours. It’s strange how a song written about the lingering side effects and presence of a bitter relationship can lead to a moment of finding who I truly am and the message I want to share with the world.”

Still only 18-years old, Peyton is one of the youngest female charting artists and has already embarked on an international tour.
