ROREY – Binary Thinking

We’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve featured NY talent ROREY, so it won’t come as a surprise that we’re loving their new single, ‘Binary Thinking’.

The production presents listeners with a summer-tinged indie pop production that feels nostalgic in tone. The song’s melancholic essence mirrors the lyrics, which are inspired by the thoughts that cross your mind when you stop communicating with someone you used to be with.

“This chorus is my favorite because, I think we all want to stand on the belief that the other person will regret losing us but, I also wondered if I even mattered enough to be felt as a loss. I wondered a lot if my absence was more of a relief. I feel like the song highlights that cyclical ‘Binary Thinking’ when you’re left speculating. While this song was written over a year ago it could have been written yesterday. Silence is open to interpretation and the intention behind it doesn’t change the impact.”

ROREY has amassed more than 550k streams to date and continues to win praise from tastemakers like OnesToWatch and Atwood Magazine.

ROREY – Temporary Tragedy

Julia Griswold

One of New York’s finest emerging singer-songwriters, ROREY returns with a powerful new single called ‘Temporary Tragedy’.

The track blends bedroom pop with mellow indie, resulting in a sound that feels melancholic and pensive. The lyrics are inspired by the realisation that in some relationships, the pain of staying together becomes heavier than breaking up.

“The song is about the cost of self abandonment when you grip intimacy and what it means to choose yourself. While the video is rooted in my first queer relationship, its message is universal: sometimes love isn’t enough to bridge the gap between hope and reality, when the other person can’t meet you there.”

Recent love for ROREY’s work has come from the likes of Earmilk and Chrd Magazine, and her songs have landed placements on flagship Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Indie.

ROREY – Mirror

Despite featuring ROREY only a few weeks ago, we obviously can’t get enough of this promising starlet as we’ve had to share more of her music with you today!

‘Mirror’ is a deliciously sinister-sounding piece of music that seamlessly incorporates indie-rock with dark pop.

Inspired by the concept of self-sabotage, the track serves as a taster to ROREY’s highly anticipated ‘Apt 7D’ debut EP , which has just been released.

‘Apt 7D’ was created alongside acclaimed artist and producer Blonder, and is sonically constructed around themes of 90’s grunge, indie and rock.

Praise for ROREY comes from industry heavyweights like Zane Lowe, as well as leading publications such as Notion and Clash magazines.

ROREY – Emotional Hangover

One of New York’s most promising starlets of late has been ROREY. Today she unveils her brilliant new single, ‘Emotional Hangover’.

Lyrically inspired by feelings of anxiety, the song’s essence feels honest and raw, but is also somehow uplifting in tone.

Sonically, the track fuses 2000’s-inspired grunge-pop with a more modern indie edge. Overall, this is a piece of music that balances tension with joy in a beautifully symbiotic way.

Having amassed more than 300k total streams from the release of just 4 singles to date, it’s safe to say that ROREY is well on her way to music stardom.
