We really can’t express how much we’re in love with American soul artist Taylor Williams. So, naturally, we’re very happy to see that he’s back this week with another sublime new release which we’ve had on rotation all day.

‘For The First Time’ is Taylor’s take on the Mac DeMarco classic and turns a lo-fi indie gem into a mesmerising, shimmering soul number. This isn’t an easy task, but Williams manages it with flair and finesse.

Praise for the artist has been steady since last year, garnering support from notable tastemaker outlets like Earmilk and Unrecorded.

Taylor Williams – What About Me?

Today’s release of ‘What About Me?’ by rising Greensboro musician Taylor Williams should hit the spot for anyone craving some soul.

A reworking of a classic by The Exceptional Three, this version was produced by Leroi Conroy and presents the song in more of its raw form, allowing for Taylor’s sublime vocals to take centre stage.

Williams currently commands more than 120k monthly listeners on Spotify – which is impressive considering he has only released two other songs on the platform up until today. No doubt, this is one of America’s most promising soul stars of the future.
