The Collection – Rose Colored Glasses

Acclaimed band The Collection end the year with a superb slice of indie-pop through the release of their new single, ‘Rose Colored Glasses’.

The track serves as another taster to the group’s forthcoming ‘How to Survive an Ending’ EP, which is scheduled for release on the 27th January 2023. Explaining the inspiration behind the song, lead singer David Wimbish elaborates:

“It’s so easy in a breakup to only remember the bad things about the other person. I wrote ‘Rose Colored Glasses’ because I didn’t want to forget the love, and the reasons that that love existed in the first place. It’s a song about the choice to remember the best in someone I’ve loved even after that relationship ended.”

The Collection look set to take on their biggest year to date in 2023, with a nation-wide headline tour planned (dates below), as well as a performance at the iconic SXSW Festival.

The Collection – Sorry Baby

One of North Carolina’s most prominent emerging indie-pop outfits return today with an anthemic release that deserves to be on everyone’s weekend playlists.

Written as an uplifting song for self-empowerment, The Collection’s ‘Sorry Baby’ reminds us all to be embrace and accept our true selves, regardless of how that might make other people feel.

“I wrote this one with the intention of exploring the concept of being unapologetically oneself. What I’ve realised is that sometimes that means not listening to the nay-sayers around you, even if it hurts their feelings or expectations.” David Wimbish – The Collection

The Collection are finishing the rest of the year performing shows all across the US, while also joining fellow label artists Sammy Rae & The Friends on their autumn tour.

The Collection – Get Lost

The Collection return today with a gorgeous blend of indie and alternative pop in the form of new single ‘Get Lost’. This is a song with deeply meaningful lyricism, emotive vocals and a beautifully constructed melody.

“I’ve learned the most about who I am in the times I’ve gotten ‘lost’ from my path and the expectations of others, and given attention and presence to whatever things come up. There have been many times in my life, whether around substance, getting divorced, or coming out, where folks have told me that I’ve, ‘lost my way’ ’and they hope that I will, ‘find my way back.’ So the song is really about that experience of those interactions – a kind of response for anyone who’s ever been scolded for discovering their own expression.” – David Wimbish, The Collection
