Romy – Lifetime

The instantly recognisable vocal comes from the fact that Romy is also the lead singer from The xx.

This solo venture shows a more playful and uplifting disco edge to the singer, and it’s pretty fun. I’m all for it!

The XX - Angels (BUDO REMIX)

This blog is bigger than I can handle some times. But sometimes it feels like it could be a lot bigger if I featured more mainstream stuff, like The xx. Truth be told, I’ve never liked The xx. I tried really hard to give them a chance but they just don’t agree with me.

Perhaps that is, until now. I’ve fallen in love with this remix of ‘Angels’ by BUDO. That’s one of the best things about remixes. They make you see things in a different light sometimes.

TLC versus The xx

bastille no angels

This is epic. A reworking of of TLC’s No Scrubs, mixed with some of The xx, covered by Bastille and introducing an elusive newcomer called Ella who’s voice is just… immense.
