New Music: Eliza Oakes

Emerging from South East London is newcomer Eliza Oakes. Drawing her inspirations from soul, pop, rock and jazz, this multi-faceted artist is influenced by the likes of Freddie Mercury, Laura Mvula, and everything in between.

New single ‘Til They’re Gone’ showcases Eliza’s more vulnerable side, with a composition that builds in intensity which is truly captivating to experience. On the song she says:

“I sometimes struggle to get my thoughts down on paper for lyrical content, but the strength of emotion of this song meant the words flowed very naturally, there was nowhere to hide. The silence was entirely purposeful as I went through a habit of overcrowding songs straight away from excitement. I began this song with the objective to be as minimal texturally as possible, it was an exercise of patience and rest.”

Taken from the new EP ‘An Intuition’ which is out now.
