Fresh British pop doesn’t get any more exciting than Caity Baser right now. After unexpectedly going viral with the release of her previous single, ‘Friendly Sex’, this 20-year old newcomer has gone on to command over 250k monthly listeners on Spotify while also selling out her upcoming London and Manchester shows within minutes.
Written by Baser herself, new single ‘X&Y’ is an infectiously catchy bop that was inspired by a recent break-up, and features production from hitmakers Future Cut and Digital Farm Animals.
“This song is all about saying fuck you to the people that think they were your ex but because they did you so dirty, they’re not even classed as that anymore. They’re just your ‘WHY’ – like why the frick did I go there.”
Fans who missed out on tickets for the London and Manchester shows can still catch Baser next week at the Reading & Leeds Festivals.
