One of North England’s most interesting artists to emerge recently has been singer, songwriter and producer Frankie Beetlestone.
New single ‘Popstar’ finds this Sheffield-based talent showcasing a polished indie-pop sound that was inspired by people’s hunger for fame:
“‘Popstar’ is basically just a song about how everyone wants to be famous these days. I kind of liked the idea of a bunch of people dancing and acting fit to a song that was taking the piss out of them.”
Beetlestone has received critical acclaim from the likes of Dork, Wonderland and Gigwise, while his catalogue of releases has so far accumulated close to 100k streams on Spotify alone.
