Daniel Adams-Ray is back!
One of my absolute favourite Swedish soloists is finally releasing new stuff. It’s all in Swedish, but his quirky poppy sound should entertain you for a while.
New Music: Kalle Gracias
So I was in Stockholm over the weekend. It wasn’t as eventful as usual, but then that was a little bit intentional. I didn’t get to immerse myself too much in music this time, but this caught my attention. It’s Swedish hip hop (I’m feeling very hip hop this month), and it’s pretty good. Check out here.
Charli XCX – SuperLove
If you’d have asked this time what pop music would sound like in 2014, I would have said it would be like this track from Charli XCX. This is so good.
New Music: Tiedye
New Music: 1987
A lo-fi, airy Swedish sound. So much potential with this. Check out here.
Two songs, two artists, sharing the same video… Those Swedes!
It’s the same music video, but performed with a different song on each clip. Both from emerging Swedish newcomers, Ms. Henrik and H.M. Hammarin. Is it just me or is Gothenburg rapidly become a Swedish hipster hub? Kinda cool…
New Music: Korallreven
This is one of those back-track posts when I notice I haven’t featured someone I thought I did. Anyway, these Swedes have actually been around for years, and they make that infectious Scandi electro pop sound that makes you happy to dance to. Check out here.
New Music: Alice Boman
A rich and warm yet fragile sound. Check out here.
New Music: Star Horse
Great Swedish indie shoe gaze. Check out here.
New Music: Moodblanc
Feel good pop from Sweden. Check out here.
You want it?
The Amplifetes are one of those bands who I don’t really know much about but wish I had more time for. This is their latest single and it sounds like Miike Snow on a happy day.
New Music: Big Fox
Gorgeous and adorably cute Swedish sounds. Check out here.
New Music: Vita Bergen
Swedish indie that makes you wish you were stuck in a cabin in a Scandinavian forest somewhere. Check out here.
New Music: Long Long Showers
There’s so much good music emerging from Malmö right now. This is a 90’s indie pop revival sound. Check out here.
New Music: B Robin
Swedish soul pop. Check out here.
New Music: Terrible Feelings
New Music: Join The Riot
Swedish pop that has the potential to blow up. And there’s a free remix download as well! Check out here.
Kings of Leon cover Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’
How about this for the unexpected!? Kings of Leon covering Robyn, and it’s very great. They’ve taken an amazing piece of pop and turned it into something really moody and special.
