Alexander Wolfe – Everythinglessness

Alexander Wolfe has become somewhat of a fixture on these pages, and for good reason. The recent releases teasing his upcoming ‘Everythinglessness’ album (out 16th January) have all been sensational, both sonically and lyrically.

Wolfe today shares with us the titular song from the album, and as we’ve come to expect, it’s a flawless piece of indie music. Despite its minimalism, the track expresses some powerful emotions, as it details the moments when you first recognise your mind fracturing.

“The first time something breaks. Your body goes off, your brain can’t keep up… ‘Am I dying”‘ ‘Is this a heart attack”‘ I remember that moment so clearly. Realising I wasn’t the same as everyone else.”

There are still some tickets left for Wolfe’s album launch on the 24th of this month at Christ Church St Leonards – get your tickets here.

Alexander Wolfe – To Feel Love

Alexander Wolfe is back today with a powerful new single, called ‘To Feel Love’.

Lifted from the acclaimed singer and songwriter’s forthcoming ‘Everythinglessness’ album (out 16th January), this rousing song touches on themes of escapism and chasing euphoria in a bid to feel less alone.

“Escaping from your problems and boredom by going out and getting wasted, a trap I have certainly fallen into myself. It’s about that endless search for love and excitement and how it can lead you astray.”

‘Everythinglessness’ was written during a difficult time in Wolfe’s life and is inspired by today’s society shifting its ideas of what masculinity ought to be:

“There’s a crisis around masculinity at the moment, you see it played out by grifters like Andrew Tate and Tommy Robinson. I believe the way through isn’t by hardening, but softening. We need more examples of soft, strong men.”

If you’re based in London then you can catch Alexander at his album launch show on the 24th January at Christchurch – tickets here.

Alexander Wolfe – Talk

TRACK OF THE WEEK

UK singer and songwriter Alexander Wolfe has been on our radar from as early as 2019, and we’re still very much in love with his work.

The artist returns today with a beautiful new single called ‘Talk’, and its message is a serious one:

“‘Talk’ is a song I wrote in response to the statistic that young men are more likely to die from suicide than anything else. How am I meant to accept the fact that the thing most likely to kill me in this world is me? The song is a call to action for lads to talk about their shit. To each other, to therapists, to the old lady on the bus, whoever it is, just talk. We have to break the shame. We need to stop seeing vulnerability as weakness.”

Mental health amongst men is something rarely touched upon in indie music, and it’s so reassuring to see artists like Wolfe releasing songs like this to the world. Hopefully this track, and its lyrics, will encourage some listeners to seek any help and guidance that they might need right now.

The song marks Wolfe’s next chapter in his music career, and we’re looking forward to seeing what comes next from this hugely gifted musician.

New Music: Alexander Wolfe

“The song is about how life is chaos, there is no divine plan, and how that’s actually pretty beautiful. I used to wish I believed in god sometimes when I was a kid, I remember thinking how much easier it would make things if I did, it just always felt like such a cop out to me. I don’t know what happens to us after we die, but I’m pretty sure there are no pearly gates.”
