Khamari – On My Way

LA-based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Khamari has frequented these pages many times – and with good reason.

Over the past few years, this highly-acclaimed artist has consistently released some of the finest R&B-pop sounds that we have come across, and his new single ‘On My Way’ is no exception.

Produced by Trackside and the artist himself, the song samples Al Green’s classic ‘Love and Happiness’, and is lyrically inspired by Khamari’s move from Boston to LA.

“In the middle of the pandemic I packed everything I owned into my car and drove across the country from Boston to Los Angeles. ‘On My Way’ is a song about my move, my confidence in knowing I was making the right decision starting fresh so I could build something from the ground up.”

Khamari – Doctor, My Eyes

I can safely say that there has yet to be a release from LA-based talent Khamari which hasn’t completely blown me away.

Doctor, My Eyes’ is no exception. This is a gorgeously emotive yet stripped-back sound, with captivating lyricism over a beautiful melody.

Khamari – That Girl

I’ve seen very few RnB artists gain as much traction as Khamari has had this year, and it’s deservedly so. This talent brings a refreshingly stripped-down approach to RnB that allows you to focus on the melody and lyricism.

The debut EP ‘Eldorado’ is released on 23rd October.

Khamari – The Heat

Following on from his impressive debut earlier in the summer with ‘Jealous’ (which took the indie scene by storm), Khamari returns today with a summer-tinged release that carries through his trademark mellow sound and adds a touch of coolness that makes this an irresistible addition to your playlists.

New Music: Khamari

An exciting debut today from newcomer Khamari. You may already recognise the vocal; he had previously racked millions of plays and over 50k followers on Soundcloud with cover songs recorded in his bedroom while he was still in school.

This is a mellow indie pop sound, with hints of RnB, that creates a unique sense of emotion to the listener without trying too hard.

“I wrote and recorded ‘Jealous’ at home in Boston last year and brought it to Trackside [Selena Gomez, Tinashe, Majid Jordan], who I’ve been friends with for a while. They’ve been helping me finish production on songs and get things across the finish line. They’ve had a big influence on the quality of my own writing and production too, working with them has taught me a lot about the creative process.”
