“2020 was a hard year on everybody. I personally grew up in a religious family where my father was a pastor my whole life. I was always around a lot of opinions that weren’t my own. Of course, I’ve always been a curious person, and never settled on what I was ‘told’. I wrote this song specifically from hearing a lot of nasty point of views from people I thought I respected. My personal acknowledgement for wanting growth in a song.”
