Genre-bending North American talent nodisco. (aka Chris Toufexis) returns with an impressive new collaboration featuring fellow musician John Splithoff, entitled ‘Blame’.

The track presents listeners with a smooth and melodic mix of classic R&B and hazy indie-pop, and was crafted during a period of heartbreak for the artist.

“I had just flown to LA the day after a breakup and was staying with my friend Luke Moellman for a few days of recording. Unsurprisingly, I was in the dumps but we wanted to write something upbeat to get me out of it. We were listening to a bunch of D’Angelo, Maxwell, Raphael Saadiq and wanted to get that raw, real instrumentation R&B sound down. We called up our friend, the incredible John Splithoff, to lay down the guitar solo and he ended up adding flavor to the whole tune. He really took it to a whole other level.”

The song serves as another teaser to the artist’s upcoming project, ‘A Long Talk at Taylors’. With such a natural flair for crafting beautiful sounds, it’s no wonder that nodisco. continues to gather momentum from tastemakers and playlist curators alike.

Acclaimed Canadian artist nodisco. has spent the past year mostly in isolation, working on his latest collection of songs, entitled ‘A Long Talk at Taylors’.

Today sees the first taster from the project with new single ‘Break My Fall’. An anthemic fusion of soulful bedroom pop and lo-fi indie, the song showcases a new sonic style for the artist.

“‘Break My Fall’ came about at a party as this person and I discussed lost love and mixed signals given by each of our own complex and confusing love interests. At the time of recording, I was listening nearly exclusively to John Mayer’s ‘Room for Squares’ at the time of production, which influenced the rawness and funk of the song.”

As a Canadian star with global mainstream potential, nodisco. currently commands close to 100k monthly listeners on Spotify alone, while his total career streams have exceeded more than six million to date.

nodisco. – In Bloom

Emerging Canadian talent nodisco. returns today with a sleek and infectious slice of electronic pop in the form of new single ‘In Bloom’.

“‘In Bloom’ is a sonic recollection of my most memorable night in Los Angeles the summer of 2021. I played a rooftop acoustic show, met a bunch of people, and ended the night skinny dipping with the same people in Venice Beach. It truly felt like living through a TV show episode. The whole vision behind this song was to create the soundtrack to that night and I think it does that well.”

To date, nodisco.’s first project ‘Who Knew I’d Write Songs About You?’ has accumulated over 4 million streams, while the artist himself has garnered praise from the likes of Ones to Watch, Line of Best Fit, Lyrical Lemonade and CBC.
