Cole LC – Weight of Love

Rising Leeds newcomer Cole LC is back with a playful new bop called ‘Weight Of Love,’ and it’s so catchy you’ll probably have it playing on rotation in your mind all weekend long.

The song was written with Far Caspian’s Joel Johnston, while production comes courtesy of Alfitude favourite Sfven and the legendary Andy Gannon. Speaking on the song’s meaning, Cole LC says:

“‘Weight of Love’ is a song about how someone can have such an effect on you without even communicating with them. When there’s chaos and things getting in the way, but feelings remain the same.”

With more than 50k monthly listeners on Spotify and continued support from outlets as prominent as BBC 1Xtra and The Guardian, we think this talent is likely to have a very successful year ahead.

Sfven – Like That

British artist and producer Sfven is back with an impressive new single, entitled ‘Like That’.

The song presents listeners with a beautifully constructed alt-pop sound, while the lyrics feel personal and bittersweet in tone. Sfven explains:

“I guess ‘Like That’ is about a conflicted feeling. when maybe you can feel something isn’t quite right but can’t put exactly into words what it is – especially when you still look at each other the same way.”

The artist has been releasing a series of new songs since last summer as part of his ‘you, green’ project, which concludes this August.

Sfven continues to build momentum with his music, and currently commands more than 88k monthly listeners on Spotify,

Sfven – love you

Acclaimed Derby-based artist Sfven returns with yet another spectacular slice of bedroom pop through the release of his intimate new single, ‘love you’.

With it’s honest and personal lyricism, the song tells of the unspoken language that two lovers can share with one another.

“’love you’ was the last song I wrote for the mixtape. It’s about a moment after a difficult conversation with someone you love where nothing needs to be said. And being grateful for what was, and beautiful moments shared.”

The track serves as the latest taster from Sfven’s ‘you, green’ EP, which is gradually releasing all its songs between now and next summer.

Support for the project comes from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and Radio X, as well as Spotify placements across several flagship playlists like New Pop UK and New Music Friday UK.

Sfven – don’t jump the gun

Following on from the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘forest avenue’ earlier this year, UK artist Sfven returns with new single ‘don’t jump the gun’.

Inspired by the inner pressures which we place on ourselves, this alt-pop banger reminds listeners that it’s OK to accept that some things don’t always go to plan.

“Writing songs can feel like a bit of an uphill battle sometimes and that feeling of just trying to keep going and pushing through is where ‘don’t jump the gun’ stems from. I just wanted to try and capture that feeling of keeping going and pushing through and acknowledging that you don’t always have to be 100%, sometimes it flows and sometimes it doesn’t – which can be really hard to accept.”

‘don’t jump the gun’ is the first song to be lifted from Sfven’s upcoming 10-track ‘you, green’ EP, which sees the artist releasing music throughout the year ahead.
