Shreea Kaul – Hungama

It’s a big day for acclaimed R&B talent Shreea Kaul, as she releases her sophomore album, called ‘Cruel Intentions’.

Among its impressive collection of bold and highly distinctive tracks is the lead single ‘Hungama’, which really is a piece of art in its own right.

This song is rich in sonic textures, bravely pushing the boundaries of both R&B and pop. With a seamless fusion of both eastern and western influences, its production stands out as an example of just how interesting music can get when you get a little bit experimental.

And if you enjoyed this release as much as we have, then we suggest you give Kaul’s entire record a listen, of which she says:

“I created this album to share my journey in love and life thus far. It’s a coming-of-age project that describes how entering adulthood has come with realisations that turned a once hopeful girl into a bitter woman hardened by the brutality of reality. It’s crafted like the plot of a film – audiences are exposed to a naive protagonist and witness her develop into a darker character throughout the progression of each song, touching on youth, dreams, love, heartbreak, and acceptance.”

‘Cruel Intentions’ is out now.

New Music: Shreea Kaul

Houston-based Indian American artist Shreea Kaul crafts an incredibly unique style of music that bounces from R&B to hyperpop seamlessly, with elements of Hindi blended in too.

This artistry sonically bridges the gap between her South Asian roots and Western upbringing seamlessly, and offers listeners refreshingly original bops to enjoy.

“‘Ol’ Dude’ is a R&B / hyperpop anthem that’s in a similar vein conceptually as ‘Ladke’. I wanted to create a fun, feel good song outside of my comfort zone”.
