Inspired by the realisation that a relationship wasn’t heading in the direction it was once hoped for, the song’s lyrics will likely resonate with many of us who have experienced disappointment in romances.
“The song is about that point in a relationship when you need to know if it’s going somewhere, and sometimes you just have to be honest when it’s not — ‘Honest?’ asks the question.”
A rough cut of ‘Honest?’ managed to achieve semi-finalist status at the 2023 International Songwriting Contest, out of 14,000 other entries. In addition, Tessa’s songs have achieved more than 350k cumulative streams to date, which is no mean feat for someone who is yet to be signed!
