Yueku – Marathon

Rising US-based singer-songwriter Yueku (aka Christian Koo) returns with an epic bop for us all to enjoy.

‘Marathon’ treats listeners to an 80’s-inspired sound that effortlessly fuses power-pop with indie and synth. Alongside its energising production, the song’s melody and punchy chorus makes this one of the biggest songs of the summer.

“‘Marathon’ is a high energy track about the inability to leave someone who isn’t right for you. No matter your efforts to distance yourself, they find a way to pull you back in. Though you’re capable of seeing the relationship through an objective lens, the other person inexplicably continues to cloud your judgment; the thought of running a marathon seems much easier than running away. The song has a lot of inspiration from 80’s pop, even slightly alluding to those old exercise tapes.”

Upcoming EP ‘Little Less Noise’ is scheduled for release on the 28th July. Yueku joins The Wldlfe on their summer tour from today – dates and tickets can be found below.

Yueku – Paradise

We are starting the week with an infectiously uplifting slice of sonic bliss, courtesy of Tennessee-based artist Yueku (aka Christian Koo).

‘Paradise’ treats listeners to a shimmering fusion of pop and indie, and is lyrically inspired by the beautiful connections that are formed between two people.

“It’s a simple love song for someone with some uncertainty about the afterlife, but the core message is that the time spent together here in the present is heaven enough for me.”

Yueku has already amassed more than a million cumulative streams on Spotify from the release of just one EP (2021’s ‘Catch Me If You Can’, stream here). Be sure to keep this rising artist on your radars!

New Music: Yueku

It’s almost impossible not to feel some kind of love for Yueku’s ‘Second Best’. Emerging from Detroit, this talent is crafting some of the most beautiful fusions of indie and bedroom pop that I have come across all month.
