This is the new face of Arabic pop
My parents are Syrian, but I was born and raised in London so my connection with Arab pop ended the day I stopped hitching rides in my dad’s car. Typical Arab dad being one blasting Arabic pop on the car stereo and singing his head off.
I can’t see my dad singing along to this, and kudos to Saad Lamjarred for shaking the scene with something that touches more Diplo and less Nancy Ajram.
