Trademark broody Norwegian pop with soft atmospheric tones.

“We’re building memories upon memories, storing them, and then forgetting about them. Like the pile of old phones you have in your parents house. Or all the stuff you’ve made, which you record on hard drives but leave in a room. There are all these forgotten fragments that were once part of who you were. We try to put those things at the centre of our music.”

twenty5 ‘It was inspired by the ‘not knowing how to leave,
not knowing how to stay’ relationship scenario. Dancing to sad records, especially since watching Ryan Gosling in ‘Blue Valentine’ serenade Michelle Williams with a ukulele whilst singing ‘you always hurt the ones you love’, really stayed with me.’
Nola ‘For me it’s about the struggles and pressures of real life and how it can affect your relationships with people, including the relationship with yourself.’

I can’t fault this slick mix of RnB and soulful pop, presented with some solid vocals.

A slightly unusual post this time… Michela is the latest winner for Malta’s edition of X Factor. Aside from a strong set of vocals on this talent, she’s also been selected to represent the country at this year’s Eurovision with a song that feels quite current for the show.

A stripped-back production that lets the vocals and melody reach out to you with a pure sense of warmth.

The sound here is still a little raw, but I feel so much talent coming out of this 22-year old talent from Nottingham. Think melancholic pop, fused with RnB.
