Elizabeth Hume – fact or fiction

We first came across US-based singer-songwriter Elizabeth Hume just over a year ago, and have been in love ever since.

Over the past few months, this rising talent has built up an impressive fanbase – along with an army of listeners who have collectively amassed thousands of streams for the artist.

Hume returns with an impressive new song this weekend, called ‘fact or fiction’. The track presents us with a dreamy sound that tastefully blends elements of indie with folk and pop.

“This multi-interpertable song if visualized is kind of like a dried bouquet of flowers from an old date hanging in a bedroom, too fragile to touch, too pretty to throw away, and if you look closely your mind begins to spiral. It’s poetic nature beckons listeners to visualize its nuances. This piece is a reflection of shedding aspects of self that seem to be holding everything together.”

‘fact or fiction’ was created in collaboration with producer Nolan Garrett. An upcoming EP is scheduled for release soon.

Elizabeth Hume – August

American artist Elizabeth Hume returns with a sublime new single, entitled ‘August’.

The track is lifted from Hume’s ‘Wake Me Up When I’m Older’ debut EP (out now), and presents listeners with a melodic fusion of indie and bedroom pop. Elaborating on the song’s lyricism, Elizabeth explains:

“‘August’ is all about being able to gain your own trust back after recognising your own apparent vulnerability in its absence. It reflects on a time of being blinded to yourself and the path to achieving your goals, learning to find a new vision. It is about surpassing your limits and finding a way, no matter what. ‘August’ represents resilience; when the rhythm around you gets dim, become that rhythm.”

The single (along with the whole EP) was produced by Hume herself and Nolan Garrett. To date, this rising starlet has gained praise from noted tastemakers such as Highclouds, Clout Magazine and Two Story Melody.

New Music: Elizabeth Hume

Fans of 90’s indie will absolutely fall in love with American newcomer Elizabeth Hume.

‘Breathing’ is the first single off Hume’s upcoming EP, which was completed in collaboration with producer Nolan Garrett.

Inspired by the euphoric emotions that we experience while we are in love, the song treats listeners to an airy and lofty fusion of indie, folk and pop.

“‘Breathing’ is an expression of feeling content in love. Wanting to know everything about the person that brings you this sense of joy. There is nothing like listening to the breathing of a loved one and witnessing them live with beauty and adoration.”

Hume’s EP will consist of five songs, and was written and recorded while she was on her gap year after finishing high school. Elaborating on the forthcoming project, Hume explains:

“The content of this EP centres around inspecting and reflecting on aspects of mental health, relationships, and figuring out where personal identity fits into it all.”
