S.C.A.B. – LOVE

New York shoegazers S.C.A.B. are back with one of their most sincere releases yet, the simply titled ‘LOVE’.

The song serves as a simple yet heartfelt ode to the group’s city and the lives they have built for themselves within it. It looks at themes of self-acceptance, as well as love and loss.

“It’s a love song to New York, to family, to loss, to starting over.”

Accompanying the song are some brilliant nostalgia-tinged visuals by Sampson Dahl, with references to the 90s and Britpop.

The track is lifted from the group’s upcoming ‘Somebody In New York Loves You!’ EP, which is scheduled for release later this month. Until then, you can explore more of S.C.A.B.’s music over on their Spotify.

S.C.A.B. – Why Do I Dream Of You

Brooklyn-based outfit S.C.A.B. deliver yet another slice of indie excellence through their new single ‘Why Do I Dream Of You’.

Serving as the opening track to the group’s self-titled LP (out in November via Grind Select), the song presents listeners with a refreshingly raw fusion of indie, rock and pop.

“‘Why Do I Dream Of You’ deals with superficial infatuation. This particular situation led to a revealing dream that I talk about waking up from at the end of the song. After this dream, I was able to process the situation and slowly realise it was probably unhealthy. It was a conclusion I needed to come to myself (versus hearing from other people). “Green beams of steel whose coat decays and chips away at me” (a nod to Frank Sinatra) reflects feeling powerless and struggling to come to terms with the reality of the situation, but holding on to the idealisation of us together.” – Sean Camargo – S.C.A.B.

With recent support from industry heavyweight FADER Magazine and placements on noted playlists like Compact Cassette, S.C.A.B. are most certainly ones to watch.

New Music: S.C.A.B.

If you’re craving for some fresh indie rock, then emerging four-piece outfit S.C.A.B. might well be one of your new favourite groups.

Today’s release of new single ‘Tuesday’ showcases some of the finest work from this rising Brooklyn-based band.

Emotive, pensive and melancholic in tone, the track looks into the struggles of forming meaningful connections:

“Tuesday” is a song about disillusionment with trying to form meaningful connections, and searching aimlessly for something worthwhile. There’s a scene from Seinfeld where Newman says ‘Tuesday has no feel. Monday has a feel, Friday has a feel…’ and that type of unspecific, hard to pinpoint vibe is what I wanted to express with the lyrics… you’re trying to get through the week, find any ounce of happiness to cling on to (sitting in the sun, feeling it burning your skin), looking for something but not finding it.” – Sean Camargo, S.C.A.B.

S.C.A.B.’s debut project, ‘Beauty & Balance’ was released in 2019, while a sophomore LP is scheduled for release soon.
