Click here to listen to The Street’s final album, ‘Computers and Blues’ in full before it’s release later in the month. It’s excellent. I’ll be sad to see the end of The Streets… until their gig in March!
Britney gone done dubstep! So amazing!
Capital FM, once London’s largest commercial pop radio station, went national today in a bid to compete with BBC Radio 1. It’s the first of it’s kind in the UK, aiming to reach 6.5 million listeners weekly. In reality though, it’s just a bit of a name change for several outer-London radio stations owned by Global Radio. Each region will still have it’s own staple of local DJ’s, but I suppose all the regions will share the same playlist. Should be interesting.
The first song I’ve heard from Ace Reporter, ‘Untouched and Arrived’ got me hooked within seconds of playing. It’s got a folky, poppy, indie kind of vibe happening, but sounds so good without trying hard. Check out here, or download the free EP, ‘Untouched and Arrived’ here. If there’s one thing you must do right now at the very least though, it’s to give ‘ Caught In The Middle’ a listen. It’s my favourite song right now.
Click here to listen to Frankmusik’s new single from upcoming album ‘Follow The Leader’. Epic electro!
The album version on Body Talk Pt2 is probably the best song of 2010 in my view, and this is the radio version which will be Robyn’s next single in time for Christmas. Yummy!
This has blown my mind away. Haven’t been this excited about a new artist in a a long time. Talay Riley is pretty unique in my eyes- when you first give him a listen it just sounds like generic RnB, but the more you listen the more it sounds different. You might recognise him from featuring in Chipmunk’s ‘ Look For Me’. Check out here.
Above is the full version of White Knuckle Ride. Yea! Also, you’ve got 6 days left to listen to Jamiroquai on BBC Radio 1. Skip to the 1hr55 mark to hear the interview and 2hr22 to hear the full song again. Funky to the max. Check out some clips from his recent London gig here.
I love this song so much – it’s better than Stepping Out in my opinion. One of my favourite pop duo’s. Click here to listen.
From my favourite singer for the last year and half. Stunning.
Kylie’s second single from the amazing Aphrodite. This is probably my favourite track on the album, perfect pop pop pop. Next single will be Everything Is Beautiful I reckon… If I had my way!
If you’ve listened to Robyn’s Body Talk Pt1 then you would have heard a ballad version of Hang With Me. This new remix acts as her next single, out in September, and will also be available in the next album (Body Talk Pt2). I like it. Dancey.
Body Talk Pt 2 Tracklist

02. Iinclude Me Out
03. Hang with Me
04. Love Kills
05. We Dance to the Beat

08. Indestructible (acoustic version)
NPR are streaming ‘Aphrodite’ in full til the 6th July. Click here for some poptastic perfection. It’s definately an improvement from ‘X’, although I can’t fault any of her stuff…
Last time I saw Corinne Bailey Rae live was around 5 years ago at the same venue, when she released her first album. It was fresh, fun, light and summery. This time round, she’s back with a deeper, darker sound that’s sombre with sorrow.
She shed a few tears when playing her older stuff, and I did feel a bit younger listening to them. I’m only 25 and Im starting to feel old! Darn! Her set went on for about an hour and a half, and it was pretty much amazingly nice to experience. The stage was a lot more static than last time- giving it a more grown-up feeling.
Standout performances have to be ‘Feels Like The First Time’, ‘Love’s On It’s Way’ and her versions of ‘Que Sera Sera’ and ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’.
I saw these guys at The Relentless Garage (it’s a venue in London that isn’t a garage nor is it relentless in any way) for HMV’s Next Big Thing festival. I am a bit obsessed with Erik Hassle, the ginger big haired skinny Swede with a really good voice and even better music. His album is out on Monday and you should really get it because it’s amazing and I haven’t stopped listening to it for the last few months. His first single here kind of tanked though:
Ellie Goulding was really good too, although she can’t shake her hips to save her life- how can someone with banging beats be so bad at dancing?
Tinashe was OK, his songs all sounded the same but he was friendly to look at.
