New Music: go4broke

go4broke might be a new name to most, but this talent has been steadily building a solid fanbase online with his distinctive take on pop. Always evolving and surprising listeners, this is an artist who is unafraid to experiment.

‘remember winter’ is a gorgeous introduction to anyone who has yet to come across his work. This track feels tender and fragile in its tone but is sonically ambitious and refreshingly daring.

To create this song, go4broke simply used a piano and guitar and completed the track with some sound design from collaborators Warpstr, Cayelli, and Josh Rorstad. You can stream more tracks right here.

Jill Blutt – When I Grace Yr Mantelpiece

Acclaimed American artist, songwriter, and producer, Jill Blutt, has unveiled a new single this week, and it’s one of our favourites to date.

When I Grace Yr Mantelpiece‘ is sonically inspired by the synthwave movement of the 80s and carries a dark undertone which is captivating to listen to. It’s an expertly constructed piece of pop and is sure to be one of Blutt’s biggest releases yet.

“My new single, paronymously named ‘When I Grace Yr Mantelpiece’, is an existential plea whose message is unapologetically unsubtle: please, please make me famous or I’ll die.”

Blutt’s work has found support through outlets like Spotify’s hugely popular Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Indie. A new EP is on the way, but until then you can stream more of Blutt’s music right here.

Noelle Sucks – Little 2 Close 2 the Sun

For anyone who’s going through a rough break-up right now, fear not, because American alt-pop artist Noelle Sucks has the perfect song for you to offload your emotions onto.

‘Little 2 Close 2 the Sun’ captures the rawness that we might experience from having a broken heart. The confusing thoughts and the self-doubt that creeps into our heads, and how it can lock our minds in a way that stops us from trying to move on.

“I wrote this song from post-heartbreak purgatory. It’s my messy word vomit, the back-and-forth guilt and confusion that I felt trying to move on from my longest relationship. I couldn’t go back, but forward was also really weird. I was in complete heartbreak limbo, not letting anyone in or out.”

Noelle currently commands almost 5k monthly listeners on Spotify, which is pretty impressive considering the short space of time that this artist has been releasing music. You can explore more of her songs right here.

Tonia – Serenity

One of the UK’s most promising alt-pop talents returns today with a powerful new single that really deserves to be heard.

‘Serenity’, by acclaimed Liverpudlian musician Tonia, touches on powerful and deeply personal themes, like trust and regret. Speaking on her beautifully introspective song, she explains it as:

“A song about trying to save someone who doesn’t want to be saved – a reflection on misplaced responsibility and the emotional weight we carry when others refuse to carry their own.’’

The track is lifted from Tonia’s forthcoming ‘The songs we wrote in Norfolk’ project, which is scheduled for release soon. This isn’t the first time that we’ve featured this ever-emerging starlet, and we’re quite sure it won’t be the last time either. One to watch!

New Music: Rue Vega

While little in life is ever certain, one thing we can all be sure of is that as time goes on, we inevitably begin to age. And with that comes a plethora of personal struggles and the constant conflict that tussles in our minds between accepting and loving ourselves while also being unfairly critical of the way we start to look.

“I grew up hearing my nana call all the other women in my family beautiful but complain about her own looks constantly. Whether it was that her arms were too fat, her rosacea looked ugly, or she didn’t like the way her ankles looked, she was always so hard on herself. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve seen the effect that had on my mom. She’s hard on herself about her looks too. And as much as the women in my family have told me I’m beautiful, I’ve been hard on myself too. I still am.

‘I Wish You Knew’ is a song that gathers its inspiration from such dilemmas. The artist, newcomer Rue Vega, wrote the lyrics after an interaction with a customer while working in a clothes store, who was feeling insecure about trying on the clothes that she was drawn to.

“I told my manager I was going to take a quick bathroom break, snuck my phone in, and made a note with the first line of the chorus: ‘I wish you knew how beautiful you are.’  It was what I wished I could’ve said to that woman.”

It’s a lovely piece of music that will no doubt resonate with many of us who are having to overcome our insecurities. So if you’re feeling a little bit down and need a pick-up, then we strongly suggest giving this song a spin!

Shanti Celeste – Note To Self

Photo / Helena Bermejo
Taken from upcoming album ‘Romance’, set for release on 16th May via Method 808 / Peach Discs

“This is the only track on the album where I (reluctantly) explore the idea of looking inward for self-love and affirmation — a theme I’ve often found a bit cringe, even though I know how important it is. It’s something we don’t talk about enough, especially within the context of romantic relationships, where love is so often tied to external validation. The fact that singing about self-love made me feel slightly uncomfortable and vulnerable felt like even more of a reason to lean into it.”

New Music: KAYELLE

“The song narrates the emotional journey of an imperfect protagonist who is well aware she is embracing toxic, typical player behavior. Throughout the track, KAYELLE expresses annoyance and spite but ultimately embodies a carefree nonchalance about the fleeting situation.”

Mychelle – Good Day

Alfitude favourite Mychelle returns with a sensational R&B masterpiece that really has turned this ordinary Sunday into a very Good Day.

Serving as the title track from the artist’s freshly released debut album (listen here), this is a song that drips in finesse. It celebrates the idea of leaving bad things behind us, and turning negatives into positives.

“It’s my way of saying goodbye to the chapters in my life that created bad days. Each time I walked out of the studio with one of these songs, I felt those bad days transforming into something good.”

Vincent Lima – Something Sweet

Photo / Chloe Dunscombe

“I wrote this song back in 2021—before Orpheus, before Eurydice, before I knew what this project would become. It was born from grief and a longing for love in a fading world. Now, it marks the beginning of their descent—a moment of stillness where they face the truth: not everyone makes it into the spring. This song holds pain and beauty side by side, and in doing so, finds forgiveness for what’s been lost, and what still might be.”

Precious Pepala – The End

Stream the new EP, ‘Dark Days’

“When you don’t find a way of getting negativity out, it comes out in negative ways. The only way for me to talk about my feelings was through music. Especially when I was questioning a lot of things about religion and dealing with years and years of pent up guilt because my parents love this thing so much and I don’t. Writing music about it gave me a way to say to my parents ‘I’m not like you’. Music put it into words for me. It was a way to open the door for those difficult conversations to happen.”

New Music: Sara Baroni

The first thing that stands out to us when we play ‘Where did he go?’ is Sara Baroni’s beautifully delicate and melancholic voice.

This talent is already creating some great hype thanks to her thoughtful compositions, which blend soft pop with soulful indie. It’s all the more impressive when you discover that Baroni is a 17-year-old student who has been writing songs from as early as 2022.

“‘Where did he go?’ reflects on that in-between space where emotions surface before you’re ready to name them. Whether it’s about your own experience or watching a friend fall for someone, the song explores how easy it is to stay in denial when the truth feels a little too close.”

Baroni has amassed more than 250k career streams to date on Spotify alone. You can explore more of her songs here.

New Music: Franklin Mansion

TRACK OF THE WEEK

Irish-born and Brighton-based artist Franklin Mansion is one of the most interesting newcomers to come across our radars this spring.

The exciting prospect has a distinct approach with the way he creates his songs. The tracks are brave and experimental, yet still maintain an emotive essence which allows them to feel relatable.

“‘You Were Never Really Here (Chloroform)’ is about that blurry place where a relationship ends emotionally before it ends physically. It’s the fourth version of this track. I kept re-recording it until it felt honest. Everything you hear was recorded in my bedroom in Brighton.”

While there’s still not much out there about Franklin Mansion, we think that it’ll only be a matter of time before he starts building momentum. A debut album titled ‘Speak with Your Limbs’ is on the way, so be sure to follow this artist on the socials!

Moon Construction Kit – Long John Silver

Moon Construction Kit is the musical project of Swiss artist Olivier Cornu. This talent crafts an exceptional style of retro-inspired music that infuses eccentric, alternative pop with synth and indie.

New single ‘Long John Silver’ is a perfect example of Moon Construction Kit’s work. This track feels dreamy and nostalgic in character but also carries with it an undertone that is mysterious and intriguing.

“‘Long John Silver’ is an epic and hypnotic journey into duality. With its haunting melodies and retro-futuristic production, the track’s cinematic depth echoes the song’s main character’s shifting nature.”

The single follows on from Moon Construction Kit’s 2022 debut EP of the same name, which you can stream here.

New Music: silyla

“The song just flowed out of me and we knew straight away it was a hit. It’s a shame as I don’t have much of a following at all, I just spend all my time at home making music. Making music with your partner is also a very special unique experience. You get to write so quickly and honestly, mess around, not take yourself so seriously. It has really helped me grow as an artist in such a special way. As soon as Rndmbeats played the guitar loop the song just flowed out of me. It was so easy. It felt so nostalgic, so soft, so me, so silyla. At the time we were living in a small country town. I was going to the fields everyday and singing to the cows cause there was nothing else to do. Whenever I think of this song I think back to those fields. The nostalgia made me subconsciously reminisce about old relationships that had naturally, as life does, drifted away from me. all the love, and care, late nights, early mornings, memories and promises you make with people, just for them to become strangers. What was it all for? nothing in the end. but still this song has a sense of acceptance. I always write from a place for some sort of hope or acceptance. I am proud of the sonics and storytelling of this song, I feel it a pillar of my artistic journey.”
