“When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at – hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth. But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.”
The latest Bond theme is quite something… Retaining the classic Bond sound while still sounding very Billie Eilish.
Track of the week. This is actually a pretty brave track to release for someone who’s become one of the biggest global talents. A minimal, fragile and subtle production that doesn’t scream for attention… Just a raw, delicate love song.
Am I the only one that gets Ricky Martin ‘She Bangs’ vibes from this? Sorry. I know it’s meant to be edgy and dark and everything, and it’s a good song anyway.
The BBC Sound of 2018 long list was revealed today. As usual, most of the list is no surprise since this really has been a stellar year, specially for pop.

Alma – featured June 2016
Billie Eilish – featured November 2015!
IAMDDB – featured September 2017
Khalid – featured May 2016
Lewis Capaldi – featured April 2017
Nilüfer Yanya – featured September 2016
Not3s – featured March 2017
Rex Orange County – featured November 2016
Sam Fender – first featured April 2014!

Nice to see some Scandinavian presence in Alma and Sigrid. I really can’t figure who will win this year though… My instinct tells me that Tom Walker and Sam Fender have the strongest chances, but who knows!
The top five will be revealed one day at a time from Monday 8 January, with the winner being announced on the Friday.
Delicate, beautiful indie from Billie Eilish.
