New Music: Lectrolips

Lectrolips make music which I can only sum up as cheeky electropop. It’s fun. Their song ‘Stromotion’ was recently used in the WAHL UK commercial campaign. I have a WAHL, without which I would probably look like a monster. So on that account, I reckon they’re good. They’ve got some good tracks which you can download for free here, or check out their blog.

New Music: Itaal Shur

This is the dude who wrote the Grammy-winning “Smooth,” which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and is the 2nd most successful song of all time on the Billboard Charts. “After years of success in servicing the needs of the pop music market, it was time to create a record that expresses the deeper essence of who I am right now.” Check out a couple of tracks below (Darkside is gorgeous) and go to his Myspace!

New Music: TINA

Ringo Starr’s called TINA (I don’t know why it’s all in capitals…)  “THE TablaGirl!”. I think she’s pretty good. I’ve only heard one song from this poppy, urban, dance, bollywood, R&B siren but so far but I’m impressed. Check out her super sexy, polished song featuring Fat Joe below and go to the website!

New Music: Max Gold

Having collaborated with the Invisible Men to lend his amazing skills to their productions for I Blame Coco and Gabriella Cilmi, he is now leaving the booth behind to emerge from the shadows of the studio. Taking the films he grew up with as inspiration and armed with a keytar, laptop and an all girl band, having created & self-produced a collection of distinctive songs: a smooth darkness underlying his unique combination of shimmering synths and style.
Max has been making music his whole life. Now he’s ready for the world. Invest in Gold. Check out here.

New Music: Ace Reporter

The first song I’ve heard from Ace Reporter, ‘Untouched and Arrived’ got me hooked within seconds of playing. It’s got a folky, poppy, indie kind of vibe happening, but sounds so good without trying hard. Check out here, or download the free EP, ‘Untouched and Arrived’ here. If there’s one thing you must do right now at the very least though, it’s to give ‘ Caught In The Middle’ a listen. It’s my favourite song right now.

New Music: Mansions on the Moon

This band fits into the Washed Out and Active Child scheme of things- stunning lofi melodic sounds coming  from Virginia. ‘Palm of Your Hand’ is gorgeously crafted genius. Their remix album, Paradise Falls was released earlier in the autumn and had the touch of Diplo within. Download ‘Glimpse of the Future (Remix)’ here and check out their music here.

New Music: Daley

Currently featured in the Gorillaz’ lush new single ‘Doncamatic’, I’m a little excited about Daley. I reckon he might be huge this time next year in the UK with his crisp, innocent voice and simple, soulful tunes. He’s like a chilled out Erik Hassle (the hair…) You can check out his BBC Introducing session here, or go to his Myspace here and get a free download.

New Music: Danielle DeLaite

23-year-old triple threat Danielle DeLaite has been on the stage since the age of three-years-old. She has travailed through the trials and tribulations of failed recording contracts and unscrupulous agencies yet she has never given up on her dream of being a performer. Result? ‘Nothing to Wear’ is a TUNE- specially the Israel remix below.

New Music: Morning Parade

A beautiful, sexy sound from a group of Essex boys (have you been watching The Only Way Is Essex..? Amazing!) Anway, Under The Stars is so so so good. They compare to Friendly Fires and Delphic a little. Check out here. You can also get a free download on that link called ‘Youth’.

New Music: Loomis & The Lust

This is pure, fun, well written pop rock made by some really cool guys from the USA. Loomis & The Lust have this 60’s surf SoCal vibe about them that cheers you up a little bit every time you listen. More importantly though, these guys don’t take themselves too seriously, and as a result they just kinda ooze coolness… Check out some tunes below or go to their Myspace here. Do it, they’re really good!

New Music: 8bit Moon

Stumbled across this lovely band on Myspace a few days ago. Hailing from the North West of England and taking influence from artists such as Afta-1, The Knife, and 8o’s synth-pop bands Yazoo and Telex, their hybrid sound fuses experimental productions with delicate vocals and nimble hooks to create seductively heady music. Check out here and give these couple of tracks a spin.

New Music: Skittles

If you’ve been following my Skinnerisms this month, then you’ll probably like Skittles.  This Manchester based MC mixes his own style with a little bit of The Streets and some Scroobius Pip along the way.

Click here to download Skittles’ free EP called ‘prE:P’, in anticipation for his upcoming album, ‘Poor with £100 Trainers’, coming out soon on Broke’n’£nglish‘s label Estate. Definitely one to look out for!
