This British-Nigerian talent delivers the dreamiest, most infectious soul vibe.

I stumbled across this dark pop gem from Lithuania over the weekend (it’s competing to represent the country in Eurovision this year). While it’s sung in its native language it felt too good not to share.

“This debut EP is about overcoming adversity. No matter the madness you’re in, there’s always light out there in the world.”

“Musically I wanted to capture the fear of getting caught and you’re dirty secret being exposed. The tension. The anxiety. The guilt. Everyone has a nasty side. But all the word’s a stage, so we hide it.”

I must confess to knowing very little about laureli, other than a self-described bio of “a high schooler from Alaska just making some tunes”. By that reckoning, this voice is nothing short of beautiful.

Swedish pop and RnB – sung entirely in Swedish but yet still somehow relatable to non-Swedes.

“Fool’s Gold speaks to the inner dilemma that comes with being in a relationship you can’t quite let go of, but know isn’t the best for you.”

Delivering a polished sound, this kid is one of the most promising names to emerge from the British drill scene.

Track of the week. A suave RnB and indie pop fusion with a charming melodic essence.

“It is about self identity and trying to understand who I am supposed to be. It is really, really scary to write from a vulnerable place and know that it is about to be released into the world.”

“Warm is basically about wanting to keep my loved ones safe and secure. I talk about how I also need them to feel safe and secure. Ironically the song features hard drums, mellow ambient guitars and a cold vocal delivery.”
