Catchy pop from Jon Bellion‘s second release.

First Watch: Darkstar ‘Amplified Ease’
First Watch: Kodaline ‘All My Friends’ (LCD Soundsystem cover)
The original version of this was one of my favourite tracks from 2007, and I’m in love with this reworking by BBC Sound of 2013 contenders Kodaline.
First Watch: SEASFIRE ‘We Will Wake’
Pretty cool new video from SEASFIRE. This single is taken from their debut EP ‘We Will Wake’ which was released with Cheap Thrills on 3rd December.
First Watch: Daniela Brooker ‘Chasing The Waves’
Well well well… Daniela Brooker’s making quite the name for herself. This video’s racked up over 350k hits since November 22nd. Sugary pop is as alive as ever.
First Watch: Caligola ‘I Want You’
One of the quirkier bands to come out of Sweden this year, this new clip by Caligola is drenched in 90’s funk.
First Watch: Elliphant ‘Down On Life’
First Watch: Mr Bubblehead ‘Burgers N Fries’
Ah the Swedes… I don’t know what else to say. I would usually run away from tracks with titles like these but this is actually a pretty good bit of disco by Mr Bubblehead, and the video’s cool! The EP is out now.
First Watch: Amanda Fondell ‘Bastard’
This track by Amanda Fondell has been getting a lot of buzz in Scandinavia, probably because of it’s title. And it’s bubblegum brashness one of the many reasons I’m so drawn to music from the region. I feel like bursting into giggles when the chorus kicks in- but isn’t that what pop is so good for?
First Watch: Medina ‘Boring’
First Watch: Saint Motel ‘Benny Goodman’
First Watch: Clean Bandit ‘Nightingale’
Another brilliant track from this up and coming London quartet who are getting a ton of buzz. I really like that they’re pushing pop’s boundaries like this. Their EP ‘A&E’ which is released on the 9th December.
First Watch: Frida Sundemo ‘Indigo’
Just as I’m about to head to bed I see a status update on Facebook for Frida Sundemo’s new video. I love the video, I love the track and I love Frida. I don’t have much else to add really. The whole thing’s just so cute.
First Watch: The Neighbourhood ‘Let It Go’
Very cool new video from The Neighbourhood performing ‘Let It Go’, released through Columbia Records on Monday January 14th, 2013.
First Watch: D/R/U/G/S ‘The Source of Light’
First Watch: The Mynabirds ‘Body of Work’
First Watch: Adam Tensta w. Duvchi ‘Raindrops’
Adam Tensta is somewhat of a Swedish hip hop authority, and I can safely say I’ve never heard a track like this before. Which is exciting.
First Watch: Ellie Goulding ‘Figure 8’
First Watch: Lune ‘Made of Steel’
New Swedish electropop from Lune. It sounds a bit gloomy. Then the chorus rings in and it’s nice again.
First Watch: Staygold ft Style Of Eye and Pow ‘Wallpaper’
One of the more quirkier tracks to come out of Sweden of late, this is the new video for Staygold’s ‘Wallpaper’ track.
