New Music: Greg Scott

Recently featured on NBC’s Songland writing a song for Bebe Rexha alongside Ryan Tedder, if there is one name to watch out for this week then I would say it’s this one.

To put it simply, Greg Scott is a hugely talented singer and songwriter with a beautifully powerful, soulful voice.

“‘I Still Do’ is an emotional ride through the struggles of keeping a relationship together and alive over time. The song reveals the strengthen love can have while also relating to more than just two lovers.”

New Music: Chris Samuels

Singer songwriter Chris Samuels is a 22-year old, Stockholm-based Swedish-American talent who is a recent Rytmus graduate (a globally renowned Swedish music school that is responsible for talents like Tove Lo and Icona Pop). Added to that, he is also a producer and multi-instrumentalist.

The sound itself is a finely balanced blend of acoustic, blues, brass and subtle indie tones. On the other side though, we also experience a mellow, yet experimental and glitchy production on ‘Separation Anxiety (Interlude)’.

New Music: Matti Roots

Calling Matti Roots a newcomer would be inaccurate – this talent has been on the radar since his acclaimed debut album ‘BeatRoot’ was released back in 2011.

Since then, Matti has been a producer for the likes of Dua Lipa, Kojey Radical, Sampha, and more.

With all that said, this year sees the return of some solo material; and if this sharp piece of neo-soul is anything to go by, 2020 could be very interesting for Matti Roots!

Chilled Norwegian pop, comprising of vocalist and songwriter Mirjam Omdal and producer Magnus ‘Magnify’ Martinsen. If enjoy their sound then you’ll be pleased to know that they plan on releasing two EP’s this year, with the theme for both being mental health.

“Mess is about the story of how a person’s thoughts and feelings after being abused can affect their life”.

Taken from the first EP ‘Close’ which will be released on June 12th.

New Music: Danica Bryant

A punchy blend of indie, rock and pop from this New Zealand talent. Bryant has already garnered the attention of Elton John while being his support act for the ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.

“It’s still very much about the loss of my childhood, but now, it’s also a fire-breathing, leather-boot-wearing testament to youth, and what being eighteen has meant to me.”

Taken from the upcoming EP, ‘Cider’, due on July 31st.

New Music: Cowboy Grizzly

An interesting blend of indie and rock, with elements of folk and Americana; all of which create an energy that’s raw, genuine and full of character.

“I wasn’t sure what I was doing and I was uncertain of the person who I am and wanted to be. This song deals with themes of dissociation, identity, Impostor syndrome, and existential purpose. I hope that this song will find you in the right place!”

New Music: will hyde

Sweetly mellow indie-pop tones from this Australian 20-year old talent.

“‘easy for u.’ is a song about giving more in a relationship than you are getting back. It’s reaching a point of awareness where you can finally see how you really stand with another person-awareness I think is the most important thing when it comes to anything… life, relationships, friendships. I wanted to write a song about reaching that point of clarity.”
