American artist Emily Rose Burnett is a new talent who caught our attention just this week with her brilliant new single, ‘thank u’.

The beauty in this song is its simplicity. A balanced yet stripped-down blend of soul and jazz sets a sonic backdrop for Emily’s heartfelt and self-affirming lyrics to shine through. Talking about the track’s inspiration, she says:

“It’s a rejection of toxic relationship dynamics in favor of choosing yourself, while simultaneously being grateful for the experience you’ve gained from a past love, even if it hurt.”

This song has a sense of quiet confidence that we’re absolutely charmed by. It brings a new perspective to the classic breakup songs that we’re used to, which is a refreshing welcome!

New Music: Blisssymbols

If you’re in need of a loud anthem to shake off your midweek slump, then we’ve got the perfect song to introduce to you – ‘Galactus‘ by London newcomers Blisssymbols.

This brotherly duo has a very distinctive and original approach to alternative rock. The sound is eccentric, bold, and textured. Alongside its captivatingly raw production (thanks in part to the fact that the track was recorded in their childhood bedroom), ‘Galactus’ also makes a statement with its lyrics, which focus on the topic of consumption. They explain:

“The song name ‘Galactus’ references the all-consuming, planet-eating, marvel villain. In this regard the song is a regard to our society’s mass consumption and our collective desire to consume. Why in this regard, Galactus embodies our collective villainy.”

Tayo Corvo is a name so new that it’s still a mystery to us who is behind this project, but in a way, that makes ‘Dose of You’ even more enticing.

What’s clear to us is that this track is crafted by a production team that knows what it’s doing. The song fuses dance-pop with old-school house in a balanced and harmonious way, matched by soulful vocals that comfortably navigate their way through mellow verses and big choruses.

We’re not sure who Tayo Corvo is yet, but we’re very excited for what comes next…

New Music: YME BEATS

YME BEATS is the musical project of rising Dutch artist and producer Ymkje de Bijl. Hailing from the city of Venlo, Ymkje was born into a musical family. In fact, her mother was part of the iconic group Ottawan, who were at the forefront of European disco.

So it comes as no surprise that Ymkje’s music features a fun and eclectic mix of electronica and pop. Melodic new single ‘Unbreakable’ offers listeners a taste of what this talent is capable of.

Sonically, the track is uplifting and emotive, with a bold beat that keeps you locked in. Lyrically, the words touch on themes of personal confidence and not giving up on yourself.

German newcomer greenwald is one of our favourite discoveries of the week. This rising talent has a natural flair for blending the past with the current in a way that is not easy to create in music.

Through her love of 00’s pop-rock (think Avril Lavigne), greenwald builds soundscapes that hark back to a time when life felt simpler. There’s a sense of playful nostalgia in her sound which is charming, but there’s also a modern edge to the work which keeps the songs feeling fresh.

‘Scandal’ is the artist’s latest single and serves as a taster to an upcoming EP, which is scheduled for a summer release. This is one talent to watch!

New Music: Dreaming of Citra

We’re really excited to be sharing with you an emerging outfit from Manchester, going by the name of Dreaming of Citra. Already making a mark across Northern England, it feels inevitable that this five-piece group will start to hit the UK mainstream soon.

‘Never Looked At Me That Way’ is their new single and treats listeners to a melancholic fusion of gritty indie and pop. Despite its sad lyrics, which tell of a love that can never be, there’s still an element of playfulness that keeps you locked in until the end of the track.

“‘Never Looked At Me That Way’ is a bitter sweet pop track about locking eyes with the one person you know you’ll never be with. It captures the quiet heartbreak of longing, restraint and loving from a distance.”

Born in Greece and based in Brooklyn, OXFLOYD is an artist who is gaining momentum with his emotionally charged style of alternative pop.

‘oxygen’ is a haunting, raw, and powerful statement that details the devastation of suffering from heartbreak. A sharp kind of pain that is so intense that simply surviving feels heavy.

The song was created alongside acclaimed executive producer Brent Kolatalo, who has also worked with the likes of Lana Del Rey and Bruno Mars. It’s rare to come across an artist so comfortable with exposing their true emotions, and we’re excited to see what comes next for OXFLOYD.

Hailing from the creative hotbed of Portland is Rosie Haze, an emerging singer and songwriter. Inspired by the likes of Radiohead and Phoebe Bridgers, this talent excels at crafting deeply emotive songs.

Haze’s new single, ‘Fresh Flowers’, recently caught our attention. This track feels refreshingly organic and sincere in its character. Recorded at the artist’s home studio, the song’s dark and atmospheric production complements the introspective lyrics, which tell of life after a tough breakup.

“I’m wearing black for who I was before. Cut fresh flowers and set them on my grave. I’m wearing white, starting this new life. Cut fresh flowers to carry on my way”.

New Music: Nastiest Below

We don’t usually post multiple tracks for a newcomer, but Nastiest Below is an exception we’re happy to make. Emerging from the UK, this electronic artist creates club-ready songs that are not only interesting but also original in their construction. He is inspired by the likes of The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, and you’ll see the influence come through when you play his music.

‘All and More’ delivers a breakbeat style of production that also carries a strong UK Garage element. The track is experimental and future-forward, while still maintaining a classic rave sound that feels very distinctly British.

Nastiest Below also unveiled an equally impressive B-side called ‘I Might Be’, showcasing a darker edge to the producer’s work. While in keeping with the breakbeat sound, this song feels headier and more intense, ‘built for late-night, warehouse club settings’, as he explains.

While still very new, we see a tonne of potential for Nastiest Below, so be sure to keep him on your radars.

New Music: Modern Oli

Modern Oli is an artist project from actor Oli Higginson, who some might recognise from shows as iconic as Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton. As a musician, this talent creates a style of music that is instantly likeable.

‘Transatlantic’ follows on from Oli’s debut ‘One Of Those Faces’ (listen here) and treats listeners to a blend of 80s-inspired synth and pop. The anthemic melody complements lyrics that describe the heady feelings of falling in love. Oli explains:

“I sat down at the piano and took myself back to one of the greatest summers of my life when I fell in love with the most intoxicating, invigorating human being I had ever set eyes on. It’s about the electrifying power of pure attraction. I’m so proud of ‘Transatlantic’ as a song because I feel it completely captures that tingly magic of feeling like nothing in the world matters except that person right in front of you and that with them you can conquer the world together.”

Despite being a relative newcomer to the pop world, Modern Oli has already picked up praise from BBC Radio London (where his song was played to over 500k listeners), Notion Magazine, 1883 and more. Fans will be pleased to know that a debut EP and some headline shows are on the way.

New Music: Mona et Toi

Mona et Toi is the creative project of musicians Alison Manicourt and Shervin Hejazi. Based in Barcelona, these two artists craft a distinctive style of ‘noir rock’, which you can experience on their new single, ‘Nothing Rhymes With Myself’.

The production builds an atmospheric soundscape that is mysterious yet hypnotic, while the lyrics look at themes of insecurity and the fear of failing. The song is finessed, and almost cinematic in tone, but still has a sense of emotional rawness that is refreshingly relatable.

The track is lifted from the duo’s forthcoming album, ‘Radical Romance of Mind’, which is out in August.

Prague might not be the first place you think of when shoegaze comes to mind, but that’s all about to change with the introduction of Czech alt-rock outfit JOYLESS AS FVCK.

This group are gaining momentum not only in their home nation but also across Central Europe thanks to their bold, raw and immediately arresting sound. New single ‘Rivers’ addresses the social and economic pressures that we face every day in modern life.

“‘Rivers’ was written from a sense of being pulled by work, expectations and algorithms more than by personal will. Coming from a region where economic and social pressure is tangible, that tension turns physical.”

The song’s lyrics are brought to life in the music video, which is intentionally shot in a 9:16 format to replicate a phone’s interface.

“The video mirrors how contemporary life is consumed: vertically, endlessly, compulsively. Fast cuts, meme fragments and digital noise create something uncomfortably familiar rather than ironic.”

We’ve got a very promising newcomer to share with you today, going by the name of 9EN (GEN). With a flair for fusing the past with the future, this talent creates sounds that are in a lane of their own.

‘Roots’ is a perfect introduction. The track makes use of a traditional instrument called the kobyz, and layers its distinctive sound over a hypnotic electronic beat.

“This song blends the ancient and the future, centered around the kobyz, a sacred instrument once used in spiritual rituals. Lyrically, it reflects nature’s cycles – winter giving way to spring, renewal, and the flow of life.”

We’re big champions of emerging Swedish talent, so we’re very excited to be sharing with you a newcomer who goes by the name of Phoebe Isobel.

Based in Stockholm, Phoebe is not only an aspiring pop artist, but she’s also a producer, songwriter, DJ… and classically trained opera singer.

Today is a big day for Phoebe, as she releases her debut EP ‘Bully’, from which ‘Clairvoyant’ is lifted. The sound is mysterious, distinct, and dark and offers a fresh perspective on the electro pop genre. Yet, despite its sonic character, the song’s lyrics encourage us to let go of the toxicity that surrounds us – and to aspire to better lives.

“Dreaming’s not naive, so what’s your vision?”

As a student at the iconic Berklee College of Music, we could safely assume that this 19-year-old talent already has a bright future ahead of her, especially if we consider her new single, ‘Baby Names’.

This is a charming indie-folk song that carries its beauty in its simplicity. Listeners can enjoy sincere storytelling, soft vocals, and a comforting style of sound. On the track, Celina explains:

“‘Baby Names’ is a hopeful song about growing old and simultaneously closer with someone. An idealized future image I’ve held since I was young. I’ve had a dream baby name for as long as I can remember. This song was written when I met someone of that same name and couldn’t help but imagine what my future could have in store for me.”

Villő is a type of artist that we rarely have the pleasure of discovering, so we’re very excited to be sharing her work with you today. Cited as the ‘Aurora of Hungary’, this promising 23-year-old singer and songwriter is already receiving acclaim in both her home nation and across Europe.

‘Léleklények’, which translates to ‘Soul Beings’, is a sublime piece of music that showcases some of the finest dream-pop that we’ve heard so far this year. The sound is ethereal in character and elevates the listener to an almost transcendent state. Lyrically, the track centres around the idea that as humans, we simply exist as spiritual beings, encased in a body of flesh.
