I’ve been asked to feature this band by a reader in Turkey… Portecho are sort of mellow, and their stuff is pretty easy to listen to. It’s kind of electro but rocky as well, I don’t really know how to describe it. Check out here.

New Music: PURPL PoP
Just when you thought Swedish pop was too cool to be silly, PURPL PoP come along. I don’t know how to feel about them, but I’m drawn to it. Make your own mind up…
New Music: Olly Murs
Yes, Olly Murs from X Factor fame. Check out here.
New Music: Geographer
A little easier on the ear than Sufjan Stevens, but still pretty edgy stuff with some really sad undertones. This guy had a pretty rough childhood, and it comes across in some calm order on his tracks. Check out here.
New Music: Samuel
Happy pop music. ‘I Heart NY’ is becoming a bit of a hit in the blogosphere. Check out here.
New Music: Ben Montague
I’m a sucker for solo dudes with guitars- I know they can be incredibly boring sometimes but Ben Montague is pretty great. ‘Haunted’ is lush, I think it’s my favourite song right now. Check out here.
New Music: ceo
Such an addictive song, this gave me a bit of a Kylie moment just now… Check out here.
New Music: Liam Bailey
This guy is a cross between Amy Winehouse, Nate James and some Daniel Merriweather. And he reminds me a bit of Otis Redding, don’t know why. It’s good. Check out here.
New Music: Dyno
I’m don’t really know much about Dyno other than they’re a Swedish trio that make cool pop tracks. Their video for ”I Don’t Speak Love’ is wickeed, don’t you think? Check out here.
New Music: Niki and The Dove
I stumbled across this randomly on Myspace. A little haunting. ‘DJ Ease My Mind’ is like a mesh between Lykke Li and The Knife. amazing. Check out here.
New Music: La Puma
Swedish rocknroll. ‘Tongues of Fire’ is a particular pleaser. Check out here.
New Music: Eric Solomon
Eric Solomon is a remixer to the stars, and much as I’m not a huge fan or remixes, Eric’s own stuff is pretty good. Antarctica is a great tune. Check out here.
New Music: Jamaica
New Music: Love Generation
A new girl band from the RedOne production team (the guy who makes Lady Gaga’s stuff). It’s fresh, makes you want to dance a little. Check out here.
New Music: The Superimposers
The Beach Boys have returned to the 21st century in the form of… The Superimposers. Check out here.
New Music: Gypsy & The Cat
Remember a couple of years ago there was a massive surge of Aussie dance acts invading the UK? What happened to all of those? Some were outstanding. Anyway, this is an Aussie duo who make summery songs that mix a little rock with a little warm electro. Check out here.
New Music: Million Young
Soft electro with some bounce… a little in the league of Washed Out and Active Child. Check out here.
New Music: The Like
The Like have actually been around for ages, but this is the first I’ve heard of them – probably because their new record has been produced by Mark Ronson and it’s my kind of groove. Their new stuff is a bit of a cross between that plastic Motown sound Ronson goes for, but with a bit of a dark indie vibe thrown into the mix. It’s reminds me a bit of poprock from the mid 90’s too… Check out here.
New Music: The Mynabirds
Plastic Motown, but not in an irritating Duffy-I’m a serious artist-Diet Coke way. Check out here.
New Music: Foster The People
Foster The People are a 4 piece from LA who make catchy pop music that’s cool enough to be ‘edgy’… Makes you want to dance a little. Check out here.
