A boyband that’s come out of the X-Factor show in the UK. I don’t normally go for this kind of thing at all but I get a good feeling about these kids. Check out here.

Little Mix
I’m not ashamed to admit that I like Little Mix. They’ve won me over since winning last year’s X-Factor UK, and I don’t really know why, but who cares. Good pop.
First Listen: Misha B ‘Do You Think Of Me’
The background to this track sends me back to the 90s. It’s an epic pop track from a girl who’s won me over from her X Factor UK days.
First Listen: Little Mix ‘Wings’
This is the first proper single from Little Mix the most recent series X-Factor UK. I should not like it but I think it’s amazing!
Just about the most unconventional single to come out of X Factor USA
So you’ve just been eliminated from the X Factor in the USA. You wanna make a big impact- you want people to remember you. You set off to release a single, and fast. But what do you want to sing about? Simone Battle’s opted to create the biggest homage a fag hag could ever create- her own little gay ballad. I think the beat is very weak, and the lyrics are laughable but good for her for going off the beaten track!
X-Factor’s Rebecca Ferguson unveils new single…
And it sounds like bad Gabrielle. OH COME ON. I am SO disappointed by this. Rebecca Ferguson was by far the stand out talent from last year’s X Factor in the UK, and this is the best they could come up with as a début single? Really? Girl needs new a team.
First Watch: Matt Cardle ‘Run For Your Life’
With the X Factor wheel in full motion in the UK, last year’s winner has released a video to his new ‘proper’ single. It doesn’t sound like anything from any of the previous X Factor winners in Britain. I don’t know what I think of it to be honest but kudos for bucking the trend.
I never thought an X Factor audition would make me cry…
… until I saw this young student, Jade Richards, belt out some Adele on tonight’s show. It’s watching moments like this that make me feel so lucky to love music as much as I do. Spectacular.
When pop gets desperate (Cher Lloyd)
This is what Shepherds Bush (West London) looks like right now. I think Sony Music’s probably spent a fortune amassing to an amount that could get South Sudan out of financial ruin on Cher Lloyd, in Shepherds Bush alone. And seeing her intolerable lyrics plastered on every available piece of street furniture doesn’t make me like her any more. But here I am, blogging about her, spending time out of my life to moan about her.
I never moan on here. I know she’s just a kid, and if I’m totally honest, I sort of can’t get the song out of my head, but this attitude she carries around seriously puts me off. Cher, you’re fucking with my head. Stop it. You’re a hater, just let it go.
First Watch: The Reason 4 ‘Take It All’
You’ll recognise The Reason 4 from the 2010 series of The X Factor. They didn’t win, but it put them on the map and has helped realise a 10-year ambition for the Southampton four –piece. Now signed to Sony, this is their debut single, out August 7th. The average age for this band is 29, which is a bit rare for new boybands, but I like that. Grown up pop. Check out here.
First Listen: Cher Lloyd ‘Swagger Jagger’
Let’s be clear about this – I despised Cher Lloyd from the start on the X Factor. I found her cocky, ridiculously tacky and annoying. That said, I like this track. I know it samples ‘Oh My Darling Clementine‘ and forces in just about every current pop genre in a couple of short minutes but its a hot mess I’m enjoying listening to. I’m sorry. Listen to it here.
Update: Little brat’s pissed off the song’s leaked, ‘”I’ve never been this upset ever!” Lloyd tweeted following the leak. “I worked so hard, and people wanna ruin it for me, if you wanted to hurt me you’ve done a great job (sic).
“please dont do this to me. i wish i was at home with my family, i’ve been through enough this year. me and my brats are stronger than this!! come onnnn! lets get em !!!!”
I’d be a bit glad to know people can’t wait to hear my music but whatever…
Shayne Ward’s new single is OK
I hate to admit it but…
… this is actually a really good single. I was always on Team Olly, but this is probably the best ‘debut’ song from any of the X Factor winners previous (bar Leona Lewis!). But then, he is sort of cheating because ‘Ambitions’ is a cover, originally recorded by Norwegian band Donkeyboy.

This lady WILL win the X Factor
Love the dance, love the lyrics, love the noise, love the character, love love love!
Poor Jedward
Go to the 2:05 mark to watch one of these poor chickens break his leg on stage and try to painfully carry on with his routine. I can’t help but laugh… ouch!
New Music: Olly Murs
Yes, Olly Murs from X Factor fame. Check out here.
