New Music: Pepper

I call this bubblegum drum and bass. Check out here.

New Music: Mashrou Leila

I don’t usually post music by Arabic bands, but when someone told me about Mashrou’ Leila I now feel the need to hunt for some more stuff from the Middle East. They’re from Lebanon and they’re causing a stir for carrying a sound that supports free-thinking, religious freedom and gay rights (from what I’ve read). Makes a change from the usual sound coming out of the area.

Also check out that remix by Électro Valentíno (on the Soundcloud above) which gives their sound a whole new, fierce spin. It’s all very cool.

New Music: Project Alfie

My name is Alfie, this blog is called Alfitude and this amazing soul/ hip hop crossover band are called Project Alfie- but they aren’t connected. However, it makes me so happy to know that something that shares my name can be so awesome and brilliant. The epic, emotionally wrought track was released on the Universal Compilation R&B Collection 2012, which marked Project Alfie as the only unsigned act to be featured on the album. Following its release, it became the most downloaded track on the album during its first week on iTunes. Check out here.
