“‘Streetcar’ explores the discomfort of admitting what you’re not supposed to want. It explores the nuances of desire, guilt, and emotional honesty in a relationship. It’s about fantasizing about infidelity and the shame that shadows those thoughts. It’s a confession of yearning, of chasing fantasy at the expense of dignity, and wrestling with what that means when you love someone.”

Elliot + Reveal Party – nothing at all

“There’s something strangely liberating about writing through discomfort — through the unforgivable. Maybe it’s because it allows you to say what’s never been said, even as you feel a creeping fear of being changed by the story or identifying too closely with it.” – Elliot

New Music: BABY B

We’ve got a really exciting talent to share with you today, going by the name of BABY B (aka Sarah Blanchard).

Despite being an already acclaimed songwriter for over a decade (with a nomination nod from the BRITS and over a billion cumulative streams from songs she’s worked on), this Mancunian artist has only just now unveiled their debut solo single, called ‘Because’.

This refreshingly original indie-pop song, inspired by the reckless feelings that love can bring, should resonate with anyone who’s fallen for the wrong person too quickly and intensely.

“It’s a song for anyone who’s ever felt themselves lose control in love, knowing it might not end well but diving in anyway.”

With the release of ‘Because’, we not only get to experience brilliant songwriting from Blanchard but also get to enjoy some fabulous vocals too. A really impressive artist and one who deserves a tonne of recognition.

Jack Kane – Wisdom Tooth

“’Wisdom Tooth’ may be the most unique metaphor I’ve committed to in a song so far. Comparing lust and infatuation to that strange, lingering ache of wisdom tooth pain. It’s impossible to ignore, it doesn’t feel like it should be there, but you can’t stop prodding at it. This song tackles feelings of desire in a playful form.”

Lucy Deakin – Solar Eclipse

UK starlet Lucy Deakin returns with a brilliant pop banger to kick the week off in style.

‘Solar Eclipse’ is a masterclass in alt-pop and serves listeners with a glistening sound that bounces between playful verses and anthemic choruses. The track somehow feels uplifting but also bittersweet, mirroring the song’s lyrics, which centre around the emotions we experience after a breakup.

“‘Solar Eclipse’ is an upbeat anthem about falling out of love in the most exciting way; when it feels freeing instead of heavy. I wrote it in LA on my birthday at the start of 2024, wanting to create something that felt like a fun summer anthem, the way Gwen Stefani’s ‘The Sweet Escape’ makes you feel. Looking back, the song almost foreshadowed what was to come – I’m so much happier and more carefree now than when I first wrote it”.

In recent years, Lucy’s music has found love on outlets like BBC Radio 1 and NME and also gone viral on TikTok. We’re really excited to see where the future takes this talent… keep her on your radars!

New Music: Jim Gardner

“‘Don’t Leave Because I Love You’ is basically a love letter wrapped in self-awareness.  It’s about how overwhelming love can be from both perspectives. Like that kind of deep, head-over-heels feeling where you’re so into someone that you can’t help but go big with your gestures, even if you’re scared it might be too much.”

Sigrid – Two Years

“‘Why did you let me go, when you want to be my woman?’ It was trying to see the situation from another person’s point of view, and in that way I could also reflect on my own perspective.”

New Music: Lord Rospo

Fans of Chance Pena and James Blake will most likely enjoy the work of French-Italian newcomer Lord Rospo. This promising artist only recently caught our attention thanks to his beautiful style of indie pop.

Citing Billy Joel as his musical idol, this singer and songwriter creates sonically tender productions that are full of personal and introspective lyrics. Each song is thought through completely and welcomes the listener into both the artist’s heart and mind.

‘Cinnamon’ centres around the theme of reminiscence and serves as a taster to the musician’s freshly released ‘Memories’ EP, which you can stream in full right here.

Freestylers x GreenFlamez – Feels Real

Two of breakbeat’s most accomplished outfits have joined forces to create this weekend’s biggest anthem.

‘Feels Real’ comes courtesy of industry legends Freestylers and Spanish producer-DJ GreenFlamez. The track expertly fuses electronic beats with a soulful vocal, resulting in a sound that is energising but also feels subtly emotive.

This is the kind of track that makes you want to dance the night away in a secret party at a derelict warehouse somewhere in East London, and we’re here for it!

Chloe Florence – Euphoria

Pop starlet Chloe Florence returns with a pop banger that we’re quite sure you’ll love.

‘Euphoria’ was written with the intention of capturing ‘the chaos and thrill of emotional release’ and showcases Florence’s natural flair for crafting pop songs that are not only catchy but also finessed.

An upcoming EP is on the way soon, but in the meantime you can enjoy more of Chloe’s work on her Spotify, where she also happens to bring in more than 140k monthly listeners.

New Music: DeepFaith

TRACK OF THE WEEK

We’re going to be really honest with you… The first few seconds of this song didn’t connect with us at all.

But we also couldn’t stop listening… and well… we found ourselves completely mesmerised by the end, to the point where this is now our Track of the Week.

‘Y&I’ by DeepFaith (aka Byron Spencer and Danial Stricker) is just an utter delight to experience. Its surreal and experimental production, courtesy of Matias Téllez, bounces between genres as diverse as electronica, pop, synth – and even choral – all the while sounding like a cohesive piece of work.

Alongside the release of the song also comes a music video, which was created by DeepFaith’s closest friends, chosen acquaintances and family:

‘It’s community. It’s the world. It’s finding your people even when things feel or are shit in the church of the night.”

The track draws listeners into a cinematic soundscape that feels mysterious and haunting and highlights the very real threats that marine wildlife face globally. Alongside its powerful message, this is a song that feels timeless and meticulously crafted to perfection.

For those unfamiliar with Anke, this rising talent has already amassed more than 17 million career streams to date. There’s no doubt in our minds that this singer and songwriter will continue to build momentum, and it’ll only be a matter of time before her work gets appreciated across the world.

Jack Dean – Tears Won’t Save You

“‘Tears Won’t Save You’ is the closing statement to a long and drawn-out saga of disappointing situations in my failing relationship. The song reflects on a time when I was in a cycle of forgiving any and all mistreatments I received from my partner until I had finally had enough – her tears would no longer be a fair price for my forgiveness.”

Jack Dean

Nicklas Sahl – Love of My Life

“‘Love of My Life’ is about the dream of finding true love – and just as much about how exhausting, painful, and endlessly lonely the search for it can be. That feeling of knowing she must be out there somewhere, yet having no idea where to look. Hinge dates, endless nights out, and solo bike rides home through Copenhagen started to feel more and more meaningless. I wrote this song mostly as a way of letting go of the pressure to find ‘the one’ – with the quiet hope that sometimes, it’s only when you let go, that you actually find what you’ve been searching for.”

No Love For The Middle Child – Broken Wings

Alt-pop artist No Love For The Middle Child tackles the subject of pessimism with his new single, ‘Broken Wings’.

For anyone out there who always seems to look at life with the glass half empty, this song might add some perspective to your ways of thinking. The lyrics remind us that as we live this life, we have to do our best to make the most of it. As the artist explains:

“The concept of the song started with a random image in my head – an angel sitting on a park bench, smoking a cigarette, bored while living in heaven. Everything is glowing and white, but their wings are rusty and there’s rain cloud over their head. As if heaven has the same monotony real life does. ‘Broken Wings’ is about a pessimist never being happy with what they have or for what they’ve already earned. As soon as they get what they want, they’re on to the next. I think it speaks to a part of everyone, a part that is fueled by the pace of the world we live in. If we can’t be happy and enjoy the ride, what’s the point of it all?”

No Love For The Middle Child is a US-based musician who is not only a singer and songwriter but also a producer and multi-instrumentalist. His work has so far amassed more than 20 million cumulative streams on Spotify alone, while also commanding over 88k monthly listeners on the platform.
