Ted Jasper – Do Something (feat. Kay Young & Shaquille-Aaron Keith)

Roc Nation’s Kay Young and poet Shaquille-Aaron Keith feature on Ted Jasper’s new single ‘Do Something’, making this release a one of the most impressive so far this month (in my view).

This is a song like none other; thought provoking and deeply emotive, beautifully performed and refreshingly original in it’s concept.

Taken from Ted Jasper’s forthcoming EP ‘Do Something’.

Shan Vincent de Paul – Neeye Oli

Phenomenally talented Tamil-Canadian rapper Shan Vincent de Paul joins forces with with award-winning composer and producer Santhosh Narayanan on epic new single ‘Neeye Oli’.

The song was written as an anthem about perseverance, while encouraging the listener to embrace their inner greatness. Look out for the track on the upcoming film ‘Sarpatta’, which premieres on Amazon Prime this summer.

New Music: Phoeno

Hailing from Dublin, Phoeno is a collaboration between Irish talents Adam Matthews and Liam Corbett.

‘Alive’ is their debut release, and it’s a hugely anthemic mix of indie-rock and pop that is immediately arresting and totally captivating to experience.

“We write songs out of our own necessity.”

NOISY – Young Dumb

Every release from NOISY seems to encapsulate the essence of youth perfectly. New single ‘Young Dumb’ is no exception; this is a loud, unashamedly confident and bold sound that revives your inner rebel.

“This song is for the festivals, the parties and the chaos that’s coming when clubs are open and gigs are back. We’re so f***ing ready for it” – Cody, NOISY

New Music: moony

Seth Findley, better known as moony is a Nashville-based artist who’s creating some of the most interesting blends of indie and alt-rock that I have come across so far this month.

‘angry’ is an exploration of the beginning of the end of a committed relationship and the feelings of confusion, chaos, and anger that come alongside it.

“’As with any long-term serious bond with someone, we pick up baggage along the way be it for better or worse. We may look back with gratitude or resentment and while I’m so grateful for the ways I grew and changed because of the relationship, resentment is what I explored in this song. I lost the essence of who I was.”

Seth is also frontman with the band Honest Men, who have achieved over 9.5 million Spotify streams to date.

Taken from the new EP ‘moon’ which is out now.

Eugénie – Blue

by Raquel San Nicolas

One of the most impressive releases of the week comes from French star Eugénie, who releases her first English language song today.

‘Blue’ is a stunning fusion of alternative dark-pop and hypnotic bass, with a sound that harks back to the days of the ‘90s UK electronica scene.

“‘Blue’ is an emotional marathon, as if everything I went through tore me down. Everything got to me. It changed from one day to another, but I always felt downhearted in the end. I tried to examine all my anxieties – my place in the industry, my doubts, my fear to move on and to grow up – which inspired the sweet and angry moments in this song.”

Indigo Eyes + Georgie O’Brien – One More Night

With a perfect blend of sleek, soulful disco and smooth vocals, ‘One More Night’ is the kind of collaboration I live for.

“‘One More Night’ is a disco and house infused song for the summer! As there’s likely no travelling again this year I thought I’d make something I could live vicariously through, with it being something I felt like you could shout in a sweaty nightclub on a holiday abroad. I wrote the lyrics about an ex begging for ‘one more’ chance and being put in their place amidst a heated argument on a night out, which I sent over to Georgie who lent her incredible vocal talent to the track to tie it all together!” – Indigo Eyes

Indigo Eyes has been an Alfitude favourite for some time now, and this release is further proof that the kid is the real deal; his work so far has already garnered support from the likes of This Song Is Sick, Wonderland and Spotify’s New Music Friday Germany.

Sherwyn – Thought Of It

While still a relative newcomer, Sherwyn’s eclectic approach of blending RnB, pop and funk has been a much-needed breath of fresh air since his debut last summer.

Today he returns with new single ‘Thought Of It’, a genre-bending sound that is a perfect addition to any summer playlists.

“I wrote this about staying comfortable being alone and taking some time to just think and not express yourself to the outside world. I always think that when I get time to myself and go to a destination for it, I learn more about what I truly love or want, and that’s what I wanted to express in the song while making it still feel like a celebration. Now that the world is opening back up we got nothing but time to show out and hit the function so we gotta be easy on ourselves. Press play and enjoy.”

Boon – Can’t Be Love

Nashville’s very own Boon returns with a sublime piece of dark pop, blended with hints of the blues, trap and EDM. ‘Can’t Be Love’ is a captivating exploration of the disillusionment in relationships and toxic love.

Still only 18-years old, this artist’s skill is truly quite special. He’s not only a singer but writer, mixer, producer, and master of all his own music. If there’s one talent from Tennessee to look out for over the coming year, it’s Boon.

New Music: Sam Addeo

A dreamy indie-pop sound with a playful undertone gives ‘Something 4 U’ a feel of what a modern love song should be like. This is the kind of sound that immediately makes you fall in love with up and coming Brooklyn-based artist Sam Addeo.

“[The song] was actually one of the first songs that I wrote that made me think ‘maybe I should start putting out music’ – and I’m so glad to finally be doing so three years later with the fam at Biyo and an amazing crew of friends, family, and creatives.”

New Music: Lone Waves

One of the best slices of summery indie-pop you’ll likely listen to all week, ‘Daylight’ is an anthemic track that’s all about living in the moment and not letting life pass you by.

Hailing from Nashville, Lone Waves are a new project comprising of Lonas (Louis Johnson) and Super Duper (Josh Hawkins). After working together on several different projects, the two are now pursuing a new direction without any limitations, and the results so far are pretty fantastic!

Watch: ALX – Run Out

ALX returns today with visuals for new single ‘Run Out’, a song that challenges the idea that you have to be in LA to make it in music.

The track also personifies the reckless energy and carefree fun of Florida that is so instrumental to ALX’s life and who he is as an artist.

The self-proclaimed purveyor of ‘Horny Pop’ is shortly releasing his upcoming EP ‘YES’, of which he says:

“I made this for pop music so that maybe it can push people’s boundaries and open their eyes and ears to better music and better songwriting. I want people to feel uncomfortable because this project is about breaking all the rules.”

New Music: Yaielle Golden

A master of many talents, upcoming independent vocalist Yaielle Golden is also a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter.

Make-Believe’ is a love ballad that is reminiscent of childhood memories of love and affection. It’s a sleek and finessed blend of RnB and hip hop, coated with smooth vocals and intelligent lyricism.

New Music: Foxlee

A beautifully atmospheric blend of dream pop and downtempo from a Canadian outfit comprising of Adam Damelin and Rose Brokenshire, also known as Foxlee.

Heart Attack’ is a song that is almost ethereal in it’s sound; cinematic yet sparse, and deeply captivating.
