Putting aside the fact that we both have the best name in the world (jokes…) Alfie Templeman’s new release ‘Wait, I Lied’ is a blissful fusion of indie-pop and disco that feels understated and cool, but still forces you to get off your chair and dance a little.

What a year it’s been… But through all the horrible peaks that everyone’s experienced, the output of music has remained as strong as ever.
With that said, this year’s long list for BBC Sound of 2021 is a solid reflection of just how much talent has emerged recently.
As usual, I’m glad to see that I managed to catch some of the artists while they were still emerging…
The winner will be announced in January 2021 on BBC News and BBC Radio 1.
“”Happiness…” is the most colourful sugary disco-pop song I’ve put out so far. It came about so easily one day in the studio with Justin from the Vaccines and his right hand man Will and by the end of the day we knew we had something special on our hands. It’s a tough time for everyone right now so hope this brings a little happiness into people’s lives!”
