Juan Zelada has already been enjoying slots touring with the likes of Amy Winehouse. Now he’s just become one of the few unsigned artists to be announced as Radio 2’s Record of The Week with his single ‘Breakfast in Spitalfields’. Check out here.

I love this. ‘At the intersection of glitch, electro-rap, and pop, live the Candy Coated Killahz’. Album’s out next month. Check out here.
This is such an exciting artist. If you’ve seen Hercules and Love Affair live then you may have heard Jessica 6’s gorgeous voice. ‘White Horse’ is a free download and the best song I’ve heard all month, and I listen to a lot of stuff! Check out here.
Formerly one of the Pussycat Dolls, Melody Thronton’s going at it alone with this retro single. Check out here.
Swedish rock/pop along the lines of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and a bit of Lenny Kravitz. Check out here.
This is very new, very exciting stuff right here. Has some of that Lauryn Hill swagger, mixed with some South London attitude. And the voice is amazing. I am really excited about this one! Check out here.
A mix of indie pop and hip hop. Named Best Live Act 2010 by the Emerging Talent Awards at Camden Crawl. Their bio reads ‘The Stow are ready to enter the industry and couldn’t give a monkeys if you agreed.’ Go you. Check out here.
Again, Danish music doesn’t fail to impress. This is pure dirty electro pop. Just screams ‘wow’. Check out here.
Formed in mid 2010, London based Waylayers make some stunning, atmospheric pop, fusing elements of electronica and indie rock. Check out here.
Raw, atmospheric electropop that makes a very big statement. Check out here.
Swedish solo indie rocker Niels Nielson’s most recent solo album, Cmon Vultures: Part 1 includes folk-inspired pop tracks drawing inspiration from the likes of The Radio Dept. and Modest Mouse. The album also features more upbeat, danceable tracks, such as “Tell Me Now” and “Absolutes,” along the lines of Peter Bjorn and John.
Yea, he really does go by the name of Kaka, yet his music is anything but. Swedish pop that is kinda happy and sad at the same time. It’s a grower for sure and I love it. Check out here.
I’m very excited about this guy. Soul pop done very well indeed. Even though this is obviously mainstream and commercial, there’s a serious sincerity in the music which you rarely come across, and I think that’s what makes Alex Boyd special. Check out here.
I’ve mentioned what, maybe six or seven new acts today – all of which are pretty good. But nothing tops finding a band at the end of the day who completely blow you away. These are The Jezabels: and their songs are just about as close to perfection as they can get. Full of big, epic rifts and emotion. Just outstanding! Check out here.
Edgy and airy sounds. Obviously done with a lot of computer work but you forget that once you immerse yourself in it. One to watch for sure. Check out here.
If I ever went to a fancy dress party dressed like Jamie Lidell (which will probably never happen), I’d probably end up looking like James Pants. You could either see his stuff as ultra cool or ultra rubbish, but either way I think it’s alright. And I love the name. Check out here.
I won’t lie to you, I find Marcus Foster’s sound and image a bit attractive. Moody, raw guitar rifts take you to a dark bar somewhere rural and American. Check out here.
Make sure you listen to this on some decent speakers. There’s nothing out of the ordinary with this guy, but the sounds he make scream youth. It’s easy to listen to, and lifts you up a bit. Check out here.
