Infectiously happy disco pop, dripping in synth and camp kitsch.

“I wrote this song about messing up a good thing. The back end of the chorus reads: “I turn daisies to weeds, be careful where you plant your seeds.” It’s important to take a step back and realize what’s in front of you before it’s too late.”

“I tend to describe the song as ‘sad pop’. I love making pop music, but as you’ll hear, I still haven’t totally recovered from my “emo phase.”

This isn’t a sound you wouldn’t have heard before, but it’s a brand of simple pop that’s pretty beautiful to listen to.

“Pale Blue was an idea I started after a session at the studio. I laid down the guitar, bass and melody down right away. For whatever reason, it all felt very natural for me and was the first thing I had written that I felt sounded like me. I had become increasingly frustrated with not feeling fully connected with the music I was making for others so it felt amazing to make something where the only goal was to impress myself.”

Track of the week. If this talent doesn’t take over every playlist, channel or radio by 2020 then I’ll be shocked. Stunning vocal, flawlessly effortless production on the beats… Just the best.

“Sometimes the ones we love are the ones that hurt us the most, yet we keep going back to them knowing how it will end. This song shows two sides of the story where both are pointing fingers and questioning themselves and each other.”

“The best things in your life are on the other side of the hardest things. It’s the Good and the Bad.”

I can’t really describe this sound – it cleverly plays with baroque pop all the while sounding full of melancholy and being soulful.

“Better Than You Loved Me’ is about taking the lack of love from one relationship and turning it around. Whether it’s a relationship between friends, family or a couple, is open to interpretation. The point is that the love you longed for from someone that wasn’t reciprocated can make you appreciate love more and give that to someone else.”

“We wrote the song after a conversation with a friend of ours. He is gay and is in love with his friend, but this friend is in a straight relationship. The song is about love that you can’t attain but that you can’t give up on; you live on the hope that one day the timing will be right.”
Oh, and if the song sounds familiar then this might jog your memory…

“I Like You’ was written when I liked someone but was too scared to be in a relationship. I feel like almost everyone can relate to this song.”
