New Music: INA IVY

With a uniquely distinctive vocal tone and an ability to create infectiously catchy pop melodies, INA IVY is a new force to be reckoned with.

”This song is about when people are trying to make you feel beneath them in everyday life but where they can’t get to you because you know your own worth. For example, a clerk in an upscale boutique maybe treats you like a bum, assuming you’re only browsing since everything according to them is way too pricey for your looks not knowing that you are the pricey piece in the store.”

New Music: John Samuel

Delivering a fresh approach to pop music, John Samuel crafts simple yet memorable melodies that are filled with piercing one liners; lyricism that immediately captivates you and gets you thinking.

‘Popstar’ is a song that embodies a character consumed by celebrity culture – an enigma all too present in the modern psyche.

“Broken people entertain; nothing questioned, nothing changed.”

New Music: Wohdee

British talent Wohdee brings a finessed approach to UK rap, blending sharp beats with a deliciously addictive bass and captivating lyricism. Not bad going, considering she only started recording original music during the first lockdown last July!

“The idea for ‘Vain’ came about when I was in the studio listening to the beat. I was puzzled on what to write about, so I asked my sister and she said to write about being vain (because I am). The ideas flew straight to my head after that, and making the song was quite easy. At first, I viewed it as fun and shallow, but now it’s more of an affirmation. Sometimes I have to remind myself of who I am, and the song reiterates it. I hope ‘Vain’ makes people feel good about themselves while listening to it. I want it to boost a lot of egos and gas a lot of heads.”

New Music: OSKA

A wonderfully captivating indie-pop sound from Austrian newcomer OSKA. This is the kind of sound that is near impossible not to fall in love with; fragile, thoughtful and so purely charming.

GoldFord – Ride the Storm

This is soul-pop at it’s purest, finest and most emotive. Melodically sublime, Goldford’s husky and weathered vocals increase the beauty of ‘Ride the Storm’ even further by sending a warm embrace to those struggling with these unsettled times.

“‘Ride The Storm’ reflects the collective anxiety that the world now lives in. There are no guarantees of anything, but we’re going to get through this together.”

GOLDSPACE – Better Than I Was

A shimmering blend of playful nostalgic pop and hints of RnB, with a killer chorus and a wildly catchy melody. This is a certified weekend bop!

“‘Better Than I Was’ is about exactly what it sounds like.. at first. I’m singing it to ‘the one that got away’ I guess, tryna’ tell her I’m a better person now, but we wanted to add that hint of desperation, pleading for her to take me back. I think the outro represents that side of it.” – Maia Quin, GOLDSPACE

New Music: EREZ

A beautifully conceptual fusion of indietronica and trip hop from a talent who is unafraid of bringing thought-provoking lyricism into her songs.

New York City born and Israeli-raised, queer artist and producer EREZ wears her heart on her sleeve and will make history doing so.

“‘Modern Dream’ is just me self reflecting and questions the place and power of technology and socials in my life and our collective lives as humans – therefore the constant use of the word ‘we’ and not ‘I’ or ‘you’ or ‘they’. I’m trying to get across a simple question – are we part of the machine or not? This hunger for fame, validation and recognition is often external and learned. Who is teaching us to crave this? The machine. The machine that makes money off us thinking that this is the route to happiness, success and fulfilment. While the truth is, those things really only come from within. (Easier said than done yea). Yes we all are looking to be validated by our friends, family and peers but to what extent?”

New Music: BRAY

LA-based artist BRAY is not only a singer but also songwriter and producer. Feel-good bop ‘Reset‘ was made in it’s entirely by this talent, and blends summery vibes with hyperpop to create a shimmering slice of audible bliss.

“‘Reset’ is a song about discovering ones self and being who you truly are.”

Natalie – Guilty Pleasures

Houston transplant (by way of Chicago), Natalie is back today with a luxuriously dark fusion of alt-RnB and pop.

New single ‘Guilty Pleasures’ sees this massively gifted talent croon about the guilt of being gay and cheating, all the while utilising vocal pitch manipulation to make the lyrics sound as masculine as possible. This is to contrast the way the world views her as a feminine-presenting lesbian.

“Because I appear ‘straight’, or don’t fit the stereotype of how a gay woman should present, some people invalidate my experiences and sexuality. I wanted to make sure that there was no wavering in my presentation with ‘Guilty Pleasures’.”

Prinze George – Off My Ass

Alt-pop outfit Prince George return today with a melancholic slice of indie-pop which is so beautifully emotive and intense, yet still feels refreshingly easy to listen to and connect with.

“‘Off My Ass’ is really the first hug I have ever given myself through my work. I am a deep feeling person and become very angry/explosive when I am hurting. I make mistakes. I don’t know how to lie about how I feel. No matter how awful I’ve been to other people in moments of weakness, I have always been, without a shadow of a doubt, the absolute hardest on myself.” – Naomi, Prinze George

Lhasa Petik – Here and Gone

Multi-talented artist Lhasa Petik not only performed the vocals on new single ‘Here and Gone’ but also wrote, recorded and produced the song herself.

To date she’s accumulated well over a million streams with previous releases, and it’s clear why the world feels connected with this future star; her style of music is uniquely eclectic and totally captivating.

“When I was writing ‘Here and Gone’, there was a point where all of my insecurities and fears were coming true. As someone who always needs change and excitement, routine is one of my biggest fears, but being stuck at home has forced me to sit with my thoughts. I’ve had to take a step back and appreciate life and relationships for what they are without all the crazy parties and travelling. Instead of avoiding the lows or turning to vices to cope I’ve been forced to appreciate them for what they are.”

New Music: Franki

Franki is a Dublin-based artist who has managed to craft some of the finest chillwave pop that I have heard all week. This is a sound that feels fresh and new, yet still carries a certain essence of nostalgia that is charmingly loveable.

“’Redo’ came at a time when I was second-guessing myself a lot and questioning all of my decisions, wanting to go back and do them again. Especially when it came to relationships. I think people generally have an issue with absolving themselves of responsibility and I wanted to honestly reflect my own arrogance. I think doing that and being this honest with myself in my songwriting has been extremely valuable to me since then and that honesty in my songs is something I hold quite close.”

New Music: SVEN

A hugely exciting indie-pop talent from Ireland, SVEN brings an understated yet highly finessed approach to music-making.

‘Frustration’ is a melancholic yet warm sound that feels dreamy and subdued, offset by an uplifting rhythm and backed by some gorgeous vocals.

Ulrik Munther – Stay Awake

I first featured Swedish artist Ulrik Munther back in 2011, when the then-teenager was just starting out on what has ultimately became quite the career.

Having achieved viral fame with his cover of Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ and competing at Melodifestivalen, Munther released three albums that all charted top-five in his native homeland.

Now he’s back with the beautifully sincere ‘Stay Awake’, a subtle fusion of indie and pop that feels deeply emotive and endearing.

“What I want to say most with this music is probably, be yourself and be honest. To think about things a little more.”

Taken from the album ‘Put Your Self Out There’ which is out now.
