Norman Doray ‘Cracks’ (feat. Andreas Moe)
Call me. Maybe?
This has to be the FUNNIEST thing I’ve seen all year. It’s a bit naughty to watch at work but it’s so worth it. I want to meet Steve Kardynal and give him a massive hug. Brave and f****g funny!
Swedish Disco
Here, have some Swedish disco to get you ready for your Friday evening, by Jonas Rathsman.
Live: Bo Saris at Proud Camden
I managed to catch a short set by Bo Saris last night at Proud Camden in London. There’s a lot of Amy Winehouse in his sound, which is a only a good thing in my books. Looking forward to hearing more from this guy. If you get a chance to see him live you have to go!
New Music: K Koke
A moment to stop…
… and just enjoy the next 4 minutes and 59 seconds of pure bliss by My Morning Jacket. Remixed by Alfitude favourite, Washed Out.
New Music: Pablo Nouvelle
I don’t know how to describe this sound, but there’s a very soulful, sexy feeling around it. Check out here.
An unexpectedly good Frank Ocean cover…
This is by Alex Saidac, a name that’s starting to get some good buzz in the Swedish pop world. Not what I would have expected from a Frank Ocean song, but it’s nice.
New Music: Anna von Hausswolff
The Swedish music industry is going nuts over this little lady- and you can see why when you start listening to that huge, powerful voice. Check out here.
New Music: Visitor
Atmospheric British electropop. Check out here.
First Listen: Youngblood Hawke
Featured late last year, it’s very easy to put Youngblood Hawke’s new single on loop and listen to it all day- catchy and really bright pop. Will this be their breakthrough? Yes…
New Music: Yohio
The above, is a 17-year old Swedish boy who likes to dress like a doll, sing in Japanese and play rock. He’s getting absolutely huge in Japan. Incredible! Check out here.
New Music: PW
New Music: Cornelia
Quirky, jazzy Swedish pop. Interestingly, this is self-released through the advice of Swedish queen of pop, Robyn. Check out here.
New Music: Black Pistol Fire
Something a bit different now- but that’s the great thing about new music. Black Pistol Fire are a perfect blend of blues and rock, and to be honest it seems to be very poppy as well, which is only a good mix in my books. They’ve been around since 2009 but this is the first I’ve heard of them, so I’m sharing! Check out here.
New Music: Frank + Derol
If there’s one song you have to hear this week, it’ll be this one. So, so cute. It twinkles with breezy, calm pop and delves in to some light trip hop. Lovely. Check out here.
New Music: PYYRAMIDS
This sound reminds me of that dark 90’s indie sound that warmed you and scared you t o death at the same time. I wasn’t expecting myself to like this, but as it turns out this is probably one of my favourite bands of the week so far. PYYRAMIDS will release their debut EP Human Beings on 17th September 2012, through Paracadute. Check out here.
