Favourite band of the week and featured here a while back. There’s so much going on with this sound, and it’s all balanced so well.
I was browsing through some Youtube clips last night and I stumbled across this by Little Dee and thought ‘wow’, so here you.
Dirty disco from Adana Twins.
This is so damn catchy, and I can tell as many of you will hate this as you will love it, but who cares. Le Kid are as pop as they come.
Nice new indie pop from Brooklyn. Check out here.
Catchy new pop. Check out here.
London-based indie group and Alfitude faves, Man Like Me, have teamed up with Samsung to offer an exclusive track for free that won’t be on their upcoming album. ‘Green Lanes’ is one of three songs to feature on a short video that the band have made with Samsung. Braindead (only ever performed live previously) and London Town are the two other songs. Download the track here!
A while back these two got together and made an amazing track. They’ve joined forces again and, once again, they’ve created another stormer of a tune.
This screams fierce. New electro pop from Canada. Check out here.
It’s been getting very mixed reviews since it’s launch last week. Muse have recorded the official song for the Olympics in London. It doesn’t seem to fit in with the whole neon colour, wacky shapes theme the organisers are going for, but for what it’s worth, it is a good Muse track. I mean, the opening ceremony is set to look like a farm- and then you have this piece of music to be played before each medal ceremony. I don’t know. Weird.
Kymberley Kennedy’s back with a new mixtape. It’s good.
Check out the new video for ‘Don’t Need No Melody’ from Bristol’s The Other Tribe and Kidnap Kid’s collaborative project. Their EP (also called Don’t Need No Melody) comes out July 2 on label-of-the-moment Black Butter, as a co-release with Relentless Records.
Graffiti6 are the first act to be livestreamed by Dailymotion as part of their new concert series, D-Tour, in which touring bands take a “detour” from their scheduled shows to play an intimate show specially for Dailymotion. Check out their clip from Chicago’s Schubas Tavern.
A bit of disco by Simian Mobile Disco.
I’m not sure why I like this, but I do. There’s a sadness to it but it’s still a bit fun. Check out here.
Promising new hip hop from Cairns. Jordan has just been nominated for a NIMA (National Indigenous Music Award) for Song Of The Year for this song, and he’s also announced he’ll be on the line up of the Bondi Music Festival on July 28. Check out here.
Promising new UK talent. Check out here.
