I love it when a song takes you by surprise half way through. This is a dancey track by Michael Feiner. With horns! I know it doesn’t sound that exciting but it’s so much fun!

It’s Thursday, but sort of Friday…
… So here’s something by D’Steph to get you in the mood for the long weekend you all deserve so much.
New Music: Jherek Bischoff
Lavishly eclectic and rich pop with lots of strings and horns. Check out here.
New Music: Colour Coding
I was never really a fan of Operator Please, but this new music from two cousins who made up part of the band is really cool indie pop. It’s nice. Check out here.
New Music: Marie Dahlstrøm
Scandinavian soul. If you’re in London you can catch her residency at the Native Tongue in Barbican. Check out here.
Another week, another amazing Lana Del Rey cover
She seems to make songs that inspire some pretty incredible reworkings, doesn’t she? This one is by one of my favourite up and coming kids from Sweden, Andreas Moe.
New Music: The Face
I can see this band being popular in Scandinavia. They’re still in the ‘demo’ stage but their sound is already sounding very promising! Check out here.
New Music: The Voyeurist
Live: Juan Zelada at Bush Hall
I had some tickets organised for me on Friday to see Juan Zelada at the amazingly beautiful (and super warm) Bush Hall in London. I wasn’t expecting this gig to be as good as it turned out to be, which was a really good surprise.
This guy’s full of mad energy, and his tracks really kick to life when they’re played live. See him if you can, it’s fun!
New Music: Lune
New Swedish electropop. Check out here.
Tom Jones!
You’d need to be blind to not notice that Tom Jones is back on telly this month with The Voice UK. Now he’s announced the follow up to his 2010 album ‘Praise and Blame’ with the release of ‘Spirit In The Room’ on 21st May 2012 through Island Records.
Tom has also graced a recent single on Jack White’s Third Man label. Featuring Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘Evil’ in his own inimitable style and produced and played by White and some of his Raconteurs, the single comes backed with a reworked version of Frankie Lane’s classic ‘Jezabel’ and has already picked up widespread praise.
New Music: Dele
New UK urban talent. Check out here.
Pat Lok ‘Remember’
This track by Pat Lok seems appropriate for a Sunday evening.
We found love in a refixed place
Refixing seems to be the new craze at the moment. It’s not really a remix, but it’s not really a cover. It’s a refix. This one’s of Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ and features vocals by Beldina. Pretty amazing.
New Music: Hooray for Earth
This is probably my favourite band of the month. The songs are full of surprises, mixing strings with epic horns and lots of voices. Check out here.
New Music: Thomas Azier
Epic German synthpop from someone recently co-wrote with German artist Casper on his #1 selling album XOXO, and collaborated with Timo Kaukolampi, head of the Finnish experimental beat rockers, K-X-P. Check out here.
Diplo goes K-Pop
New Music: Rabih
Swedish pop from a newcomer. The video looks pretty generic until the end when a massive twist kicks in, and something that really happened. Check out here.
New Music: Tubetops
Your piece of Friday disco
Is this a big track or what? Have an awesome weekend.
