A hugely exciting talent emerging from London, Deijuvhs crafts songs that serve to represent an underground scene made up of skaters, punks, rappers, rebels and misfits.
‘Scumbag Anthem’ is a guitar-heavy, raw and wildly infectious release that balances between the artist’s fiery frustration and thoughtful self-awareness.
Exceptionally talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Natalie McCool returns today with a dreamy slice of indie-pop in the form of new single ‘Take Me To Your Leader’.
A broad and compelling listen throughout, the song serves as an insight into what can be expected from the forthcoming full-length album, ‘Memory Girl’.
“I’d had this idea of feeling ‘alien’ floating around for a while – and the phrase Take Me To Your Leader is one I’d never really heard in a song before, so at first I was unsure but it really grew on me. It’s about wanting to belong – almost obsessively, wanting to have something valid to say, and these thoughts and feelings spiral until you become fixated ‘I want to peel your skin, dive for gold, let me in’.”
McCool is also running her new ‘Memory Girl Project’, where she is asking fans to submit their inspiration for a song she plans to record and release as a standalone single after the album release. Find out more here.
Having made his musical debut through critically acclaimed band Jungle, London-based artist Andro carries a distinctive vocal that is immediately arresting. Both versatile yet deeply moving in tone, listening to this talent sing his way through ‘Fight Back’ is an emotional experience. The song combines elements of soul, synth-pop and gospel and is one of his most personal works to date.
“It’s a lament to the loss of my father. It’s about pleading with him to stay and finding a way to fight. It’s one of the most painful songs I’ve ever written and took a long time to gain the strength to finish it.”
Taken from the debut EP ‘Mortal’ which is due 16th July 2021.
One of the most exciting finds of the weeks comes from Irish-Nigerian artist Cherry Dragon, who’s blend of soul-pop with alternative RnB is something that is really quite captivating to experience. ‘Starlight’ is a raw and emotive piece that inspires us to live the way we want.
“I noticed so many people were struggling because they didn’t have the job or the relationship or the house they feel that they are ‘supposed to have’. It’s easy to fall for the pressure that society can project on to us but really it’s our lives and we only have the one. I decided I’m gonna live it how I want to.”
A true visionary who is consistently creating some of the most exciting sounds to emerge from the USA, Jean Dawson is back today with the exhilarating ‘Dummy’.
Growing up in Tijuana, Dawson crossed the border every day to go to school in San Diego as a kid, falling in love with music during these long commutes. He uses his art to challenge the hyper-masculinity that line in both black and Mexican cultures and social norms overall.
Jean will be opening for BROCKHAMPTON on their North American 2022 show.
Swedish pop starlet ORKID’s new single ‘Sugar Coma’ is as sweet as you’d imagine. This is a flirty, playful piece of electro-pop that will instantly win you over and be a staple to your summer playlists.
“You’re invited to the world of ‘Sugar Coma’ with a cherry on the top for an extra layer of goodness. Adding more would be a sin so I will leave you to enjoy this piece of sweet bliss.”
For fans of the very early Amy Winehouse and Corinne Bailey Rae releases, you may appreciate the tones of new talent Honey Mooncie.
This is British neo-soul at it’s very finest, seamlessly blending just the right amount of pop and RnB into the mix to create a sound that feels distinctively unique and totally captivating.
‘Here For Me’ is taken from an upcoming project that is produced by the legendary Fred Cox and Owen Cutts.
“This project for me tells a love story from start to finish. ‘Here For Me’ comes towards the end of this relationship and is about feeling like you need more from someone and coming to terms with knowing that you need to let them go.”
Having written for and performed with the likes of Donovan Woods, BANNERS and Classified, Canadian singer, songwriter and producer Breagh Isabel releases her own debut ‘Girlfriends’.
The song is a coming-of-age story about a very specific type of heartbreak; the kind that comes from being a lovesick teenager in less welcoming times.
“I had no firm intention of delving into a solo artist project when I wrote ‘Girlfriends,’ but the song easily became the most honest thing I had ever written. I started to feel like I had something to say that might resonate,” says Isabel. “The song is about little – and sometimes big – moments and thoughts I didn’t know what to do with at the time, but now realise we’re just expressions of me figuring out who I am.”
Perfect for the summer weeks ahead, Shelter Boy teams up with Norwegian artist boy pablo on laidback slacker indie-pop number ‘Terrace’.
“When I finished the first verse in the summer, I immediately thought that the combination of the two of us would be a good fit. We talked about it in September, then it took a while, but then his part came – and I think he delivered pretty strong! Nico (boy pablo’s real name) put a lot into the track and I’m very, very proud of that.”
Montreal artist Mint Simon’s musical project serves as a vehicle for self-discovery and expression through the form of outstanding pop.
‘Some of Everything’ encourages listeners to resist the narrow boxes of society and embrace the complexities of who they are.
“I feel like as time goes on, we’re seeing more and more fluidity in gender and sexual expression especially in the younger generation. This song is a celebration of that not only for my queer fluid ass self, but for all the queers and the gays who want to celebrate with me.“
Following on from the release of 14-track album ‘VIDÉ, seeyousoon return with another huge slice of innovative hip-hop in the form of ‘Faster Please’.
This collective consistently push the barriers of the genre with a bold confidence and an eccentric flair, so much so that they have already garnered support from the likes of Pigeons & Planes, FADER and COLORS.
Track of the week. As far as debuts songs go, this has to be one of the stand-out releases I have heard so far this year.
A self-described grunge-pop songstress, SACHA is a Scottish-born and London-based artist who’s immense vocal immediately draws you in, while the epic production from Lewis Gardiner keeps you hooked from start to finish.
“’Something We’ll Regret’ is about my repetitive bad choices when it comes to men. I always go for someone I know is bad news or a situation that will inevitably end badly but can’t help myself! I had just broken up with my last boyfriend and started dating someone who had already told me he didn’t believe in monogamy! I knew this wasn’t going to work for me long term but couldn’t help myself as it was fun at the time – it’s about the mentality of going for things knowing that the outcome will most probably end in tears!”
Alongside her fantastic Pride Playlist, Naomi Banks has also released charming new single ‘I Don’t Mind’; an exploration of what she loves about the concept of polyamory, and the openness and honesty that comes with these relationships.
“‘I Don’t Mind’ is about a polyamorous relationship and accepting all the adventures your partner goes on as long as they are happy and being treated well.”

Everything that King Princess touches seemingly turns to musical gold. This artist now garners close to 4.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Staggering and thoroughly well-deserved.
Contrary to the band name, ‘Jupiter’ is anything but bad. This is a tremendously fun disco-funk concept that feels playful and joyous, with hints of nostalgia added in for good measure.
Alt Bloom’s new single is quite the shift from his former releases. ‘Fly Away’ brings an indie-pop twist to this talent’s sound, and adds subtle hints of Americana to create a song that feels beautifully warm and inviting.
Still only 18-years old and yet this Danish wonder kid has created one of the best blends of RnB and indie pop that I have heard so far this month.
Hakami paints a picture of being young and in love on new singe ‘bS’ – from the hard-hitting love intoxication, to turbulent break-ups and everything in between.
Taken from the debut EP ‘pOLAROID dREAMING’ which is set to release later this year.
Copenhagen-based talent updog is already setting himself up as a force to be reckoned with.
Garnering over 200k monthly listeners on Spotify alone, this artist’s quirky approach to alt-pop is winning him fans across the world at a very fast pace. ‘skellies’ is a hugely catchy track and serves as the lead single to his upcoming EP, of which he says:
“‘skellies’ set the foundation for the overall theme of this EP. It’s inspired by one of my personal worst periods. A time in my life where I was the most self conscious and struggled to ever be real and honest about anything. ‘Mama said I’m keeping the deposit’ as true as that statement and excitement was back then, for me represents the need to always seek approval. ‘Mama’ is an overused word throughout the EP, and represents my youthfulness but also fear of being real.”
Upcoming EP ‘skellies’ is out on 1st October 2021.
