Bubblegum pop in it’s purest, most fun form. You won’t forget the chorus in a hurry, guaranteed!

A refreshingly playful yet finessed blend of chilled pop and soul, with subtle hints of funk.

“‘Take It Back’ is about being nostalgic and reminiscing about the good moments you’ve had with a person when you were in high-school. Experiencing the feeling of missing that someone, who’s not in your life anymore. It takes you back to the good times you miss and describes how someone made you feel, and how you feel about it now years later.”

I’m pretty sure that no one is reviving the 90’s dance music beat as well as Rose Gray is. And her commitment doesn’t just end with the music; these trippy visuals feel like they’ve come straight out of 1995, and I am living for it!
“I wanted the ‘Easy’ video to be a trip. It’s kinda mad, we shot most of it on greenscreen. I danced, I cried. Stylistically it’s pretty out there, and we didn’t really know how it would look till we got into the edit. I co-directed and came up with the concept, I’m a little bit of a control freak but I think it truly captures my vision- being inside my head.”
Taken from the new mixtape ‘Dancing, Drinking, Talking, Thinking’ which is out now.

It’s been almost a year since we were first introduced to ELIO, but it’s clear to see that the 23-year old pop starlet has already garnered a loyal fanbase. It’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world falls in love with her loveable style of pop.
“I always thought writing a song that was detached from personal experiences was meaningless, but ‘CHARGER’ is just pure fun, and now it’s one of my faves.”
Taken from the EP’ Can You Hear Me Now?’ which is out now.

Undeniably one of Australia’s biggest talents to have emerged in recent years, Jarryd James has finally released his much anticipated second album, and with it this stunning single.
“’Overdue’ is my favourite track on the album. The city of Los Angeles can be a strange place for an introvert from Brisbane. Keeping pretty unusual hours and not really looking after myself took its toll. We slowly started to make a piece of music while I drank some gin, and we made what I think is my favourite thing I’ve ever made.”
To date, Jarryd has amassed over 480 million streams, an ARIA top 5 album and two multi platinum-selling singles in Australia. His song ‘Do You Remember’ was recently announced as the 4th most Shazamed song in Australia for the past decade.
Taken from the album ‘P.M.’ which is out now.

Naughty word aside, this is one of the best power-pop songs I’ve heard all month. It’s been on loop for the last thirty minutes non-stop because it’s just so good.
Could Little Grace be the UK’s next big name? Time will tell, but if they keep pumping tracks like this out then the answer is already a big ‘YES’.

Sometimes, the purest and most stripped-back approach to music-making is also the most captivating.
dexter has a sound that is just so immediately inviting and relatable that I could listen to this song all day and not get tired of it.

Track of the week. I have no doubt in my mind that Finn Askew will become a household name by the end of this year. His EP ‘Peach’ is out now, and with it comes the release of ‘Egotism’, which is just about the best pop song you’ll listen to all day. On the EP, Finn says:
“I wanted to create something that showed how creative I really am. I’m a kid from a small countryside town where there is no music scene at all but I’ve had so many musical influences, which has created my mad diverse music taste.”

Zeli is an 18-year old London talent who creates some of the darkest, most intense pop from any newcomer that I have experienced in some time. A stunningly atmospheric sound with haunting vocals.
“‘Almost’ is about the chase, and the bruises you’re left with. It’s about desire, and your fear of it. It’s about being in love with the idea of love.”

In the space of just one year, HYYTS have firmly established themselves as one of the biggest talents to emerge from Scotland, with their trademark style of euphoric pop never failing to impress. Now they’re back with their first single for 2021, and it’s as excellent as you’d expect.
“It’s all about scars, whether they’re self-inflicted or otherwise, and the pride they should stand for from getting through a situation and having the marks to prove it. So the idea was to use tattoos as a metaphor of how something painful can leave a positive impression and how being proud of your painful experiences is a beautiful thing.” – Adam, HYYTS

Mimi Webb’s rise to stardom has been pretty meteoric over the last twelve months. There’s good reason for it too; this is some of the most exquisite ballad-pop you will experience. And that immense vocal… you won’t forget in a hurry.
“For me, this song really represents the feelings of loneliness, but in the way where we are all just people made up of a bunch of different things. You only have yourself to rely on for this, but then it comes to meeting someone who has all the same broken parts as you do – which turns into a messed-up love.”
Previous singles ‘Before I Go‘ amassed over 12.2 million Spotify streams and 600k YouTube views, while more recently ‘I’ll Break My Heart Again‘ is already on 1.5 million Spotify streams and 128k views.

Saw you with a new guy, I’ve been on my own
You won’t hit a month, know that you won’t get along
The TV’s on, but I never seem to watch it
Thoughts in my brain running quicker than a faucet
And time stopped when you looked my way
Feelings flooded, never let them drain
It gets hard to see when it rains
Your heart’s heavy when it’s full-on pain

Danish trio CHINAH never fail to impress. This is a luxuriously textured song with a series of intricate (yet minimal) beats underlining a beautifully melodic composition.
“‘Mysterious’ was made by crudely putting together some odd elements and somehow making them fit. We try to capture the weird beauty that can arise from combining things that weren’t initially meant to be together.” – Simon Andersson, CHINAH

A beautifully constructed blend of indie and atmospheric pop from a talent hailing out of Perth.

Sage Ray’s follow up to December’s ‘Goodbye Stage‘ is exactly as beautiful and melodic as I’d hoped. Minimal yet intense; deeply emotive yet relatable.
“While she was healing from her past, I was giving my guts loving her the best I knew how. Our dynamic caused lots of disconnect and bad communication and I think most people would’ve given up. In fact, lots of people told me I should. But I learned that real love is laying my life down for others. Loving even harder when things get tough. Committing and persisting through something many in my world said was hopeless was one of the most beautiful, vulnerable experiences I ever had, and I’d never trade it.”

An LA-based music duo who have created a wonderfully melodic and hazy dream-pop number, with an ode to the retro. The song itself is about that one friend we all have who’s bubbly but also a bit lost.
