“Touching on a theme that resonates throughout the album, ‘Good In Goodbye,’ is predominately a break up song. It’s about how cutting ties with a toxic person, no matter how tough it can feel at the time, is sometimes the only way forward and you should always find the ‘good’ in ‘goodbye’. It also touches on the duality of condemnation and self-reflection you often go through at the end of a relationship – a concept which is brought to life in the video where I delve deep into my inner demons, playing myself and my evil twin.”

“When I wrote this song nearly two years ago, I’d hit a real emotional low. Having just gone through an amazing, life-changing experience – one of the best things that’s ever happened to me – it also felt like the worst time of my life. I wrote Invisible to reflect the way I was feeling at that time, but also to focus on the fact that sometimes depression and feeling down are things that you can’t see or touch. It made me think about how invisible mental health issues can be.
I listen to this song now and know that I am in a better place in my life. I am so lucky that I have music, to capture all of my honest thoughts and feelings and to make something beautiful out of a desperate situation. I hope this song encourages others to open up and talk about what they’re going through, rather than keeping things bottled up.”

JP Cooper brings back power pop in a very finessed way with this track.
“‘In These Arms’ is a song about addiction… through the perspective of being addicted to a person, knowing they’re not right for you and being in a prison by your own choice. It’s about constantly making excuses for the addiction and projecting romance on to it but ultimately knowing that it’s wrong. I think it’s something that most people would have been through at some point in their lives.. if not, it’s probably gonna happen…unless you’re one of the lucky ones. These are the relationships where you learn a hell of a lot about what is good for you, what you deserve and in turn, if we’re talking in the context of human relationships, what your partner deserves.”

Few talents have impressed more than Jessie Reyez over the last couple of years, and with the release her long-anticipated debut album on March 27, I can only imagine 2020 will be absolutely huge for this kid. And well deserved!

Another strong release from this kid… I’m so excited to see how Tia’s story unfolds in 2020.

“This video was a passion project for everyone on my team and was the most I’ve been involved in writing the treatment and creating the video. We used a sex doll to symbolise only being viewed for my sexuality rather than my character as a woman. In the beginning of the video it’s just me, symbolising how alone and uncomfortable I felt, and by the end I’m with all my friends who supported and uplifted me.”

“Control is about meeting someone that makes you weak in your knees and never knowing how they actually feel about you. You make risky decisions, act irrationally and tolerate things you normally wouldn’t. You’re feeling nervous, insecure and are constantly afraid that they are gonna leave you. Oh and this is when you learn – the difference between love and obsession. For the video we wanted to target this hopeless feeling with a twisted sense of humour.”
