Some new disco for Friday courtesy of Alex Metric & Jacques Lu Cont with vocals from one of Sweden’s most recognisable new pop voices, Malin. Released in September on Ministry of Sound.

Free Download: Frida Sundemo ‘A Million Years’
One of the best bits of Swedish pop I’ve heard all week! And Frida’s giving it away as a free download. So Happy Right Now!
New Music: Sailor & I
Track of the week. In fact, it’s probably the best track I’ve heard all month. For anyone who thought that mixing pop with big orchestra’s was a tacky combination- give this a spin. Check out here.
Live: Kim Cesarion at The Social London
Immense is not a word I use often when I describe most showcases- but Kim Cesarion was out of control this evening at The Social in London. Huge voice, heavy beats and a big sound. This is one Swedish export that will go global very fast.
Carousel – Dancing On My Own (Robyn Cover)
What a great remix of Robyn’s from Carousel! So sweet.
New Music: Min Stora Sorg
New Music: Summer Heart
I fell in love with this as soon as it started. Swedish summery indie pop. Check out here.
New Music: Real Magic
This is very obviously pop music, but beyond that it’s hard to describe the sound. The Robyn cover is brilliant. Check out here.
First Watch: Kim Cesarion ‘Undressed’
Kim Cesarion is currently one of the hottest artists to come out of Sweden. This is his new video. Single’s out 28th of July on RCA/ Aristotracks.
Malcolm B
There seems to be a lot of Swedish hip hop emerging on the internet of late. There’s the hard, dark hip hop. Then there’s this hazy, summery throwback sound from people like Malcolm B.
New Music: Cape Lion
I haven’t heard Swedish electropop that’s this fresh in quite some time. Check out here.
New Music: Jack Moy & Glöden
The song that’s been on rotation all week for me…
Its the opening track from Oskar Linnros‘s new record. The whole album’s a good follow up to his debut from 2010. Well worth a listen.
What Swedish soccer players do on the side…
First Listen: Karl X Johan ‘Never Leave Me’
One of my favourite emerging Swedish acts, this is a new track from Karl X Johan.
First Listen: Elliphant ‘Music Is Life’
I feel 11 years old again when I hear this new throwback from Elliphant. This is definitely her most radio-friendly song yet.
Nadia Nair – The Bon Voyage EP
I’ve featured Nadia Nair a fair few times on here. She’s from the same team that looks after Miriam Bryant; who’s turned into Sweden’s biggest new artist.
There’s no hiding from the fact that Nadia Nair has one of the biggest voices to come out of Sweden, and her tracks really push the pop boundary- they’re raw, hard and atmospheric as hell.
Check out an interview I did with the lady right here.
New Music: TRGL
Swedish pop. Check out here.
First Listen: The Lonely Island feat Robyn ‘Go Kindergarten’
I hate this. Until Robyn kicks in.
Then I love it.
Then she stops and I don’t like it any more. It’s a big tune from The Lonely Island though.
New Music: Linus Svenning
So, this is a very special post. Linus Svenning was unknown to me right up until a friend near forced me to watch his videos while I was in Sweden last week. I’ve never seen, or heard anything quite like this.
There’s a ton of videos over on his YouTube and they’re all amazing (some have hit 200k views). Chances are this kid won’t stay singing in the dark for much longer… Check out here.
