Miso Extra – Deep Fried

London-based mixed heritage artist Miso Extra returns with a deliciously blended fusion of playful pop and rap on new single ‘Deep Fried’. The track once again affirms this talent as one of the most exciting newcomers to emerge from the UK so far this year.

“Food for me is a love language (be it the preparation, serving, or the eating of it) and ‘Deep Fried’ pays homage to that. The track celebrates the sudden overwhelming feeling of being drawn to someone, and I’ve likened the sensuality of this experience to eating deep fried food. Whilst mostly being in a fantastical dream-like state, the song’s English rap acts as a break from this; it is like a Freudian slip of me revealing my subconscious feelings.”

Taken from the forthcoming ‘Great Taste’ EP,  which is out early next year on Beatnik Creative.

New Music: SUNSET 18

Track of the week. SUNSET 18 is a collaboration between emerging artists (and best friends), CCA Jonas and 8lanco. Having met at school in the Norwegian city of Bergen, these two talents bonded over their creative ambitions.

As each of them has already garnered significant traction on their own merits, it’s looking like the SUNSET 18 project could well take them on to achieving international mainstream attention.

“‘CHANEL’ is about a fight between the two of us. We’re fighting over a girl and discussing who wants her more. The girl is a metaphor for a grammy, so in reality we’re fighting for a chance at our dreams. We want people to feel the special dynamic between us in CHANEL!”

ArrDee – Flowers (Say My Name)

Continuing his ascent to stardom, British breakout artist ArrDee is back with new single ‘Flowers’. Centred around two samples (that of ‘Flowers’ by Sweet Female Attitude and ‘Say My Name’ by Destiny’s Child), ArrDee delivers his trademark bars amidst punchy drill beats and infectious vocals.

The track follows on from last month’s hit single ‘Wasted’ alongside Digga D, which went straight into the UK Top 10 (his third successive Top 10 in as many months) and remains on the BBC Radio 1 A-List.

Nemahsis – paper thin

“I was taught to pray for whatever you want and God will provide. I wasted two decades begging for fairer skin and lighter eyes. It became routine. I spent the majority of my life hating the features I currently love most about myself. A girl full of insecurities that over time harvests into self love. they won’t love you until you learn to love yourself.”

New Music: Amelia Moore

Some of the most original alt-pop to emerge from the US right now seems to be made by Amelia Moore. The longer you listen to ‘sweet and sour’, the more you are rewarded with unexpected musical twists and turns.

With a style of music-making that results in songs being delightfully unpredictable in their nature, this artist is firmly one to watch for.

Amber Ryann – BEEN HIGH

Another outstanding pop release from LA-based talent Amber Ryann. ‘BEEN HIGH’ sees the artist and producer perform a song that is not only refreshingly honest in lyricism, but also melodically captivating.

More so than most songs by emerging artists right now, this single shows that Amber’s self-awareness and authenticity is well beyond her years.

Casper The Ghost + Jutes – BAD

Swedish duo Casper The Ghost join forces with Canadian shooting star Jutes to collaborate on one of the strongest pop-punk singles that I have come across in quite some time.

‘BAD’ is a raw yet exhilarating release featuring energetic vocals and playful drums, with a soundscape likened to Blink182, Kenny Hoopla and Travis Barker.

“Ever since we heard Jutes album ‘Overrated’ we’ve wanted to collaborate with him, and this felt like the perfect opportunity. ‘BAD’ is about a toxic relationship where you should, but do not dare, talk about your problems due to the fear that it will get worse. But in the end you just realise that it would never last anyway.” – Casper The Ghost

“I love the idea of collaborating with people in different parts of the world. Especially when we’re influenced by the same music, it ends up creating a unique spin on something familiar. When I heard the record from Casper the hook instantly got stuck in my head and I knew it was the one and I had to get on the song.” – Jutes

New Music: Dan B. Patrick

A beautifully constructed and powerfully moving release from London-based, Irish-Welsh singer-songwriter Dan B. Patrick. Using his distinctively powerful vocal, this artist focuses on the most salient aspects of the human experience, covering love, loss, mortality and hope.

“[Embers was written] at a time when I felt particularly panicked about the future. I felt as though I was very far away from the goals I had set myself and that I was badly letting my younger self down. So the song was initially written as a letter of apology to my younger self (which in hindsight was absurdly melodramatic).”

Already garnering praise from the likes of BBC Introducing, Soho Radio, Amazing Radio, and The Irish World, this is one artist to watch.

Taken from the debut EP ‘A Streak Of Light’ which is out now.

New Music: Master Peace

UK talent Master Peace expertly fuses elements of hip hop, trap, punk and indie into well… masterpieces.

This is an artist who has already garnered praise from the likes of Annie Mac, Jack Saunders and BBC Introducing, continuing to build momentum with each exhilaratingly eccentric release.

“After playing at festivals over the summer, my shows were brought to life with this song. It has that Punk energy in it and it’s all in the title – Shakedown. The live side of Master Peace is where I get to show my playful side and when I touch the stage it’s exactly that – a shakedown!”

Master Peace will be joining Everyone You Know, as well as KAWALA on their upcoming UK tours, and next year in March is his UK headline ‘Public Display Of Affection’ tour.

Croosh – Parade

Croosh has to be one of the hardest-working independent musicians right now. Today marks the release of new single ‘Parade’, which also happens to be his 38th release of the year, continuing a fulfilment of releasing 48 songs in 2021.

And it’s safe to say that all this consistency and commitment is paying off. He’s currently garnered over 160m collective streams, as well as earning a spot on TuneCore’s Top 100 Independent Artist To Watch.

‘Parade’ is a reflective song wherein Croosh explores the idea of ending a toxic relationship in order to better himself and continue to move forward.

Serena Isioma – Crying In The Club

Few newcomers have seen a rise as meteoric as that of Serena Isioma. By combining elements of alternative, indie, hip hop, and R&B into a genre-bending sound, this artist has accumulated millions of streams and garnered praise from the likes of Billboard, Complex, Rolling Stone and Wonderland to name but a few.

Today, the first generation Nigerian-American talent shares new track ‘Crying In The Club’. Narrated through the lens of Serena’s alter ego ‘Dreamer’, the song details a dire moment in their life in which they came close to losing themselves.

Keegan Powell – Wildcard

Toronto-based songwriter and performing artist Keegan Powell originally began his musical journey with Canadian alt-rock outfit Teenage Kicks, before going on to compose songs for the likes of Chastity.

In the midst of all this he was also releasing music under his own name, and has since had his tracks featured on CBC Radio 3 as well as in film.

‘The Wildcard’ is an eccentric fusion of indie and rock that serves as an ode to the underdogs and freaks; the ones who will always go their own way no matter how hard it gets.

New Music: Bradley Baker

An exceptional talent emerging from Cornwall, Bradley Baker creates a kind of sound that is immediately captivating thanks to it’s warm and emotive tones.

‘Seasons’ is a stripped-back acoustic piece that reflects on how the world changes with the seasons, while the love of a relationship remains the same.

Considering the fact that Baker only started creating music during lockdown, this is one British artist who’s firmly on the ‘one to watch’ list.

Mom Tudie – Gold (feat. Maya Law)

South London producer Mom Tudie collaborates with Norwich singer Maya Law on new single new single ‘Gold‘. This hopeful song is presented through a beautiful jazz-inflected production, and topped with Law’s warm and luxuriant vocal.

“I wrote ‘Gold’ when lockdown was in full swing – for me it’s about being able to turn something sad or shitty into something great, knowing your worth – even when you’re in a bit of a slump. Working with Tom was definitely my little bit of gold in quite a lonely time during 2020.” – Maya Law

“This song came out of a want to make dance music, but I always seem to subconsciously sway to the more laid back kind of stuff. I knew this would be a big tune about 10 seconds into hearing the demo vocals Maya sent to me, they just worked so well with the instrumental.” – Mom Tudie
